Burma - Thayetmyo. 1917 Printed P.O.W envelopes to Bombay, one with "From Prisoners of War Camp, Thayetmyo / Burma, India" printed at the base with a printed circle for the censor cachet, with differing circular censor cachets in violet, "CENSORSHIP STAMP / Passed by / Commandant / Date 25 JAN 1917 / signature or initials / R.J.H / Camp THAYETMYO / BURMA" or "CENSORSHIP STAMP / Passed by / Commandant / 4 MAR 1918 / R.J.H / P. of W. Camp, THAYETMYO". Backstamped at Thayetmyo and Bombay, the standard type P.O.W cover with minor soiling, otherwise fine and scarce. (2). Photo on Page 104.
1925 (Feb 5) Anglo-Indian Survey Flight by Alan Cobham, picture postcard of Cobham's De Havilland aircraft flown from Calcutta to London with the violet flight cachet and green vignette, bearing an uncancelled India 1a stamp, posted upon arrival with a "WADDON AERODROME / CROYDON" c.d.s (Mar 17), "1d / E.C" charge mark and a 1d postage due stamp cancelled at Kensington W., signed by the flight engineer Arthur B. 1941 (Sep 10) Second "V" Campaign flight ("A") from Chabua to Calcutta, "Esau Stars" cover with "V" in upper left corner, pilot signed, posted at Dum Dum but with the KGV 1a3p stamp cancelled by two strikes of the violet "A-CALCUTTA" cachet, pilot signed with Calcutta arrival backstamp. 20 Covers carried on this flight, just eight with the "Esau Stars" envelope, this cover unique with the flight cachet cancelling the stamp in error. 1941 (Nov 5) Indian Air Force first Bombay to Peshawar flight, cover with violet boxed flight cachet on both sides, a Bombay backstamp (Nov. 5) with a KGV 1a3p cancelled at Peshawar (Nov. 7), a further 1a3p stamp cancelled upon arrival back at Bombay (Nov. 9), signed by two members of the delegation that accompanied the Governor of Bombay on the flight. Fine and very scarce, just twelve covers carried. Photo on Page 114.
1840 1d Blacks, the used collection on pages comprising plates 1a (7), 1b (9), 2 (10), 3 (6), 4 (7), 5 (5), 6 (8), 7 (6), 8 (7), 9 (3) and 10 (3), all with four margins with many large margin examples, some on pieces, one plate 5 stamp with a black Maltese Cross and part red cancel, a couple of small thins noted and one plate 10 (red Maltese Cross) stamp creased, otherwise all appear fine, an unusually good lot all carefully chosen by a discerning collector. c.1898 Local cover bearing nineteen stamps totalling 12½a, comprising 1889-90 imperf 1a, 2a, perf 4a (S.G. 30, 31, 36), 1884 imperf ½a strip of three and single (S.G. 52), 1886 ½a and 1891 redrawn imperf ½a (S.G. 56, 59), 1898 ¼a bright green strip of three and ¼a black strip of four (S.G. 63, 65) and 1896-1901 ¼a strip of three (S.G. 76), all with c.d.s cancels, philatelic but unique, the only recorded 4a stamp on cover, probably the most remarkable cover of Bhopal. 1932 Unissued Children's Welfare Association, identical to the Annas issue first proposed in 1928, comprising perforated 1f deep blue, 10f red (2), 20f green (2) and 50f light blue (2) unmounted mint, 50f light blue fiscally used, and 1f sepia block of six each with "WATERLOW & SONS LTD / SPECIMEN" overprint and a small punch hole affixed to a piece from a sample book. Also a similar 20f surcharge on undenominated stamp in green fiscally used. This issue, originally printed with values in annas, later reprinted with the new currency in fils, apparently remained unissued as postage stamps but were used for revenue purposes. Very unusual. EMANUEL MANASSE (20th century) Sir Winston Churchill, KG, OM, CH, TD, DL, FRS, RA (1874-1965) bronze with green patination, signed to the neck, 13.5cm high, mounted on a rectangular wooden plinth, bearing the stamp for Laszlo Hoenig's 'LAHO LONDON', 21cm high overallAlthough described as 'Signor Manasse' and presumably of Italian origin, little is known of Manasse or his career except that he lived in London c. 1940-41. He exhibited one work at the Royal Academy in 1940 and another at the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts in 1941

The 28mm black dial signed Record Watch Co Genf, with luminescent Arabic numerals and hands, subsidiary dial, signed movement no. 022K, the case back stamped ‘STAHLBODEN D496491’, case 34mm.Currently running, the crown is a little stuck.

Hermann Bohm (1866 - 1922), an antique Austrian Rennaisance-revival gem-set and enamelled silver brooch, comprising a central square-cut pink stone of approx 4 mm, bezel set within radiating blue enamelled scrolls and an outer white scrolling annulus, the former accentuated by small red-enamel-filled silver annuli, the hook bearing Bohm's HB stamp, Vienna "A" mark and standard marks, late 19th Century, 21 mm. [The Viennese silversmith and jeweller Böhm specialised in Historismus work and achieved acclaim at the Vienna International Exhibition of 1873 and the 1889 Paris Exposition Universelle for his artistry in enamel.]
A George III 18th century silver trophy cup, mark of Nathaniel Smith & Company, Sheffield 1797, double duty stamped, together with Dutch import duty mark, of campana form, lower fluted, upper engraved PRESENTED TO SURGEON MAJOR ALDRED ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE REGIMENT BY H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES K.C. & THE OFFICERS WHO HAVE SERVED & ARE NOW SERVING IN P.W.O. NORFOLK ARTILLERY MILITIA 1885, 2 simple looped and reeded handles, fully marked friction fitting domed cover topped with a foliate cast finial, raised on a circular stepped short pedestal base, 14cm diameter at the rim, 32cm high, 873g (27.9ozt)From 15th July 1797, for nine months, the King's head duty stamp was struck twice owing to the duty on silver being doubled.

Appears to be drawn on laid paper with some abrasions to the paper top right going into the face. Some discolouring with age and signs of developing mount burn. Clear studio stamp.
