Stamp /stamps Tower stamp album (labelled A2)contains some exceptional ranges of GB unmounted mint GB stamps and also used stamps; most (even all?) all are pristine. UMM status has been asserted by the original collector and spot checks have shown no deviation from the assertion.Some noteworthy items among others are: full 1939 HVs used, part of same set UMM; complete 1951 HVs UMM, same used; 1948 RSW £1 UMM;There are many more sets and blocks throughout (100s quality stamps).Specialist remarks in pencil for various items. The massive brown colour shift (with comparison stamp) for the mint 1967 9d EFTA (lovely WHITE wagons) is stunning.
Stamp /stamps An interestingly worthwhile group of items. The old and fullish Criterion album, though remaindered in places (eg no GB), is replete with countries and stamps - foreign and Empire - going well back in time. A fun and possibly productive browse. A green Senator album has some pleasing GB and mid period Denmark pages. Also small group of GB FDCs and thirty or more envelopes of country-sorted stamps.
West Middlesex Militia brass 1751 Hilted Hanger. A good example of the 1751 pattern. The single edged curved blade is with the stamp of a running wolf enclosing initials S.H. (Simon Harvey). The solid brass hilt is with three bar open guard, the grip is of a spiral design, with ball pommel. The shell guard is engraved "M. Middlesex W.B. 2/18". The sword has been polished. GC. Blade length 24.1/2 inches.
Napoleonic War Period 1796 Light Cavalry Trooper's Sword by Osborn & Gunby Birmingham.A good example the blade bearing a stamp of a Crown and to the back of the blade "Gill". The regulation hilt with single bar guard and leather covered grip. Housed in original steel scabbard fitted with two loose rings. Overall condition is good, some age wear.
18th Century Style Halberd HeadA good example with double edged leaf shape blade. Single edged side blade with scroll side edges. Rear downturn double edge point. Plain steel body with lower steel shaft joining bars, these remain attached to part of original wood shaft. Bears an Armour stamp of a shield and "C. GOVNOR". Now with an overall dark patina.
WW1 1906 Imperial German M1898/05 Seitengewehr Sawback Butcher BayonetA good clean example with 14 1/2 inch single edged blade widening towards the point, with large fuller and saw back edge. The forte marked "Erfurt". Back edge with sawback and inspection stamp for 1906. The hilt with steel turn up quillon, half muzzle ring and wooden grooved slab grips. Not made with flash guard. Housed in its steel scabbard. Overall GC.
WW1 M1888 Lee Metford Bayonet Royal Navy Issue.A good example, the double edged blade stamped with a Crowned VR and date "1/97" Also with "16", the pommel with a cancelled stamp "N" which may indicate RN re-issue 1916. Two piece wooden grip secured by two brass rivets. Complete with all brown leather scabbard and a variation of the 1901 Naval equipment bayonet frog. GC.

Yeomanry Hussar Officer's Pair of Undress Riding Boots.A fine quality pair with London tailor's stamp to the interior and a Victorian Royal Coat of Arms. The boots are of black patent leather with eye and laces to the ankle. The boots retain a silver boss to the "V" at the top of the boots. Slight wear, GC.This pattern of boots were worn by most Hussar Regiments, the silver boss indicating a Yeomanry Regiment. The vendor believes them to have been worn by an Officer of the Oxfordshire Hussars.
City of London Imperial Yeomanry Important Officer's lance cap.A magnificent and Regimentally important example worn by Colonel Sir T.A. Polson KBE., CBE., TD. who led his Regimental at the Coronation of King George V. The Lance cap of the post 1902 Pattern. The skull of black patent leather with the upper portion of pale blue melton cloth, with gold gimp cord across the top and down the angles. To the left side is a gold bullion rosette with embroidered Royal Cypher of George V. This supports a blue stitched swan's feather plume. The gilt lance cap plate is mounted with silvered Arms of the City of London, Battle honours South Africa 1900-1902 and title scroll. Patent leather peak with gold bullion lines. Two gilt metal lion head boss's support chin chain with leather backing. Leather sweatband with silk lining retaining gold embossed tailor's stamp for Hamburger Rodgers & Co London. Slight age wear, silk lining part shot, plume holder absent. Housed in original metal storage tin, bearing engraved name plate "Major T.A. Polson City of London Yeoy (Rough Riders). Colonel Sir T.A. Polson KBE., CBE., TD was promoted Colonel in January 1910 and is confirmed as leading his Regiment at the Coronation of King George V in 1911. He died in 1946.
12th Lancers Edwardian Other Rank's Lance CapA very good example, of black patent leather body, peak and crown top with ornate brass foliage bosses to each corner. Regimental post 1901 brass Lance plate to the front. Last battle honour being "Relief of Kimberley". Lion head bosses to each side support a brass chin chain. Woollen cord boss with regimental Victorian button supports a scarlet horsehair plume. Leather and waxed cotton sweatband lining and the crown with 1902 issue stamp. The cap retains a good shape. GC. ... Accompanied by yellow mohair cap lines.
