A 1st war group of three to 2748 Private G Harris, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, together with Death Plaque named to same. Accompanying the medals is a letter written by the soldier to his mother dated December 1914, enclosing the King and Queens Christmas card, of which Private Harris asks his mother to take great care because " I shall prize it very much when I get home". The soldier died from his wounds in France/Flanders the following July. Also included is an Oxfordshire Light Infantry sweetheart beadwork cushion, photographs of the soldier, Record Office letter and scroll and a book of Common Prayer. There is also a Primrose tin containing rosette and badge, a stamp box, two other books and a photograph of a cavalry Officer which were discovered alongside the principle items in this lot
