A Third Reich shooting certificate, awarded to Schutze Laufer of “8.M.G. Komp. I.R. Heilbronn”, dated “Munsingen, den 30.Sept.1935”, and bearing the stamp of “8 Komp Inf Regt”, 13½” x 10½”; also a Third Reich shooting association pin back enamelled badge of “Meisterklasse Kitzbuhel 1943”. GC (2)
6 portepees for German swords or daggers, including one with leather strap; mostly new condition; two acorns from portepees; three plated metal belt clips bearing Assmann stamp and “DRGM”; a leather bayonet frog (brittle); and a few incomplete dagger grips, piece of silver bullion cord, etc. Various conditions.
A good WWI Brodie's Patent steel helmet, with liner (patent stamp faint), leather chinstrap, and original pale khaki linen cover, GC (the crown dented). As it is not possible to remove the linen cover the outside has not been examined, but it appears to have a very rough textured olive green finish. Plate 6
A 1796 pattern heavy cavalry trooper’s sword, shallow fullered blade 34½”, marked “Osborn” on backstrap, with inspector’s stamp in fuller at forte, pierced disc guard, diamond shaped reinforce with quillon, broad knucklebow, plain rounded pommel and backstrap with ears to leather (worn) covered grip, buff leather sword knot, in its steel scabbard with 2 rings, the knucklebow marked “E/19” (unclear), the top of the scabbard engraved with “RD” monogram. Basically GC for age (some wear and cleaned bright overall).
A .177” Millita “Original” break action air rifle, 46½” overall, rifled barrel 22” with adjustable rearsight, stamped in script “Original V Model 1929”, the air chamber bearing large “FLZ” in circle trade mark and number 129490, with underlever barrel release and walnut butt with the chequered pistol grip and circular “Original” stamp (faint). GWO & C (worn overall).
