George III sabre by Runkle Solengen A George III 1796-Pattern Light Cavalry Officer's Sword, the blade with single broad fuller, remnants of part blued and gilt finish, engraved to the obverse with crowned GR cypher between pendants and lambrequins and to the reverse with the Royal coat of arms between flowers and trophies of war, engraved maker's mark, ''T.T. Runkel, Solingen'' to the back, the steel stirrup hilt with ornate langets, the quillon with scroll terminal, wirebound fishskin grip, in steel scabbard. The scabbard marked, 'R Johnston late Bland & Foster Sword Cutler and Belt Maker to His Majesty St James's St London'. Blade length 29.25in. (74.3cm)

The blade etched with crown and VR cypher on pierced steel guard, fish skin grip, in steel scabbard and together with a red and gilt lace sword belt and sash. Blade length 33in. (83.8cm) Purchased in the 1940s at the auction of the contents of Lissloughrey Lodge, Ashford Estate, Cong, Co. Mayo. By descent to the current owner.

McC.; together with a silver-plate mounted coromandel-wood baton, the cap with engraved scalloped cross.

A large wooden-handled hunting knife in leather sheath/scabbard CONDITION REPORTS Pitting on both sides of the tip of the blasde going onto the swedge, also pitting on both sides of the blade near the hilt and the choil and the kick. Numerous areas of wear and tear commensurate with age. Some oxidisation to the hilt and on the handle. Wooden handle shows wear commensurate with age. Has no makers mark
German M.84/98 Bayonet, excellent blade clearly marked crown ‘W’ over ‘87’ with Imperial acceptance stamped, good grips, regimentally marked to the reverse of the lower cross guard, mismatched regimental numbers to top chape of scabbard, good leather, all steel fittings to the scabbard present.
Mauser S98/05 Trophy Piece Saw Back Bayonet, a highly interesting trophy piece being a beautifully bladed S98/05 bayonet, maker marked crown over ‘Erfurt’. The back strap is marked crown over ‘W15’ with Imperial acceptance stamp. Good wood grips, complete with its original faintly maker stamped leather frog and NCO’s bayonet knot. Adhered to the scabbard is an original British Army Field Post Office stamped label to Mrs. J. Cocroft, 66 South View Sheffield’ with ‘Passed by censor’ stamps dated ‘16th June or July 16’. An historic item.
German S71/84 Bayonet, excellent blade, maker marked ‘Weyersberg Solingen’. Both the upper scabbard chape and the lower cross guard of the bayonet are marked to a ‘Machine Gun Unit, B.6.R.M.G.66’, good wood grips, marked to the back strap of the blade crown over ‘L’. Complete with its excellent condition leather scabbard with all fittings present and original frog with faint traces of regimental markings and bayonet knot.
German Mauser S98/05 Bayonet with Saw Back Removed, maker marked ‘Waffenfabrik Mauser Obendorf’ in its extremely good all blued undented scabbard. Wood grips good with its superb condition brown leather frog which is marked ‘930’. Maker marked ‘Hans Roma, Neu-Ulm, date ‘1915’ and complete with NCO’s knot.
German S98 Officially Shortened Bayonet, this officially shortened S98 bayonet and scabbard with its leather frog, NCO’s knot, maker marked ‘Alex Coppel, Solingen’ blade marked crown over ‘W’ over ‘06’ plus Imperial acceptance stamp. Good wood grips, bayonet working lug working correct, bayonet frog nearly mint, maker marked, ‘1916’ dated with portopee knot. Featured on page 46 and 47 of Feldzug 16.
