A box containing a mixed assortment of 20th century military effects to include an unmarked helmet with all over blackened finish, a 19th century copper bugle stamped Henry Pottery, 30 Charing Cross, London, 1890, a 20th century M1 30 CAL ammunition box, items of personal uniform etc to include leg wraps, two stitched tan leather dagger scabbards, a further good quality stitched leather scabbard with studded detail, a leather ammunition purse, possibly 19th century, a further leather ammunition satchel, further belts, etc, also together with a substantial antique brass skimming spoon with ironwork handle and a copper warming pan
SCOTTISH OFFICERS DIRK circa 1950's, with a single edge fullered blade with a notched back and marked 'R.G.Lawrie, Glasgow & Edinburgh', with a thistle embossed collar and a carved basket weave bog oak handle with a stone set pommel, together with a similar knife and fork all contained in a leather scabbard with thistle embossed white metal mounts, marked 'R.G.Lawrie Glasgow, Edinb. London' to the reverse, with an adjustable leather belt hanger, 45.7cm long Note: the original owner served with the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.
VINTAGE BAYONET. Vintage military bayonet with sheath, L: 57 cm CONDITION REPORT: There are no dents to the scabbard or the knife, there is a number on each of the pieces but we cannot make them out and therefore cannot comment if they are a matching pair. The press stud function does work. The blade does not appear to be bent out of shape. There is writing to the back of the blade but due to some rusting we cannot make out what it reads. All postage is by Mailboxes Altrincham. We can accept bids over the phone or by email prior to the sale.
