A set of three 19th Century Chinese polychrome decorated figures, one seated, one bearing sword, the other grimacing approx. 21-23 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Seated figure - extensive damage and repair to the neck. Right hand missing. Large chip to the top of the seat and broken and repaired to the base of the seat with restoration around the seat in several areas and firing crack to left ear. Figure with sword (or not?) - sword obviously missing with damage to the hilt. Further damage to the helmet or headdress with area clearly missing which would have previously fitted into the slots either side of the headdress at the rear. Base of sword scabbard damaged and missing with damage to the open end of the scabbard. Restoration to right foot. Third figure - damaged to left hand and to base of jacket. There are no signs of further restoration under ultra violet light.

Housed in its original scabbard with both top and bottom fittings. Attached to the scabbard is a RZM marked brown leather two piece hanger. Fine blade with much of the cross graining still visible. Standard ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ motto. Reverse of the blade with RZM logo and code M7/68 1941 for the maker Tiger. Some light surface staining to the blade but otherwise a good example.

Housed in a repainted scabbard with plated mounts. Complete with un-marked (officers?) blade having motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’. Some surface staining to the blade and a couple of small chips to the grip but otherwise a reasonable example of a desirable and difficult dagger to find in the current market.

Polished slightly curved blade with fuller to the back edge. Clemen & Jung makers mark to the underside of the langet. Some wear to the gilding on the hilt and some wear to the scabbard but otherwise a good example.

Clear makers trade mark and acceptance stamp. Some scuffing to the leather covering on the scabbard but generally still a good example of a desirable sword from the Third Reich period.

Lightly etched makers trademark which is classic for this manufacturer. Overall a very good example.

WW2 German Kriegsmarine (Navy) Officers Dress Sword by WKC with Etched Blade, very good untouched example of a WW2 German naval officers dress sword with white ivorine grip retaining the original wire binding, gilt folding guard with anchor to the central cartouche. Oakleaves relief to the knuckle guard, leading to the lion head pommel with green and red glass eyes for Port and Starboard. Original wire binding to the grip which is loose in some places. Attached to the grip is the original Kriegsmarine issue officers dress portepee. Housed in its leather scabbard with brass mounts. Rear fixing locket catch. Very good condition slightly curved blade which has the WKC trade mark and also etched with oakleaves, battleships, sea plane, Kriegsmarine eagle over anchor to one side and the other side etched with oakleaves, battleship and the Kiel naval memorial. Some light surface spotting to the blade but generally a good condition example.

Rare Third Reich Hitler Youth Leaders Dress Dagger by E & F Horster Solingen, good example of the Hitler Youth leaders dagger with original wire bound grip. Top pommel with Hitler Youth diamond to the top, correct pattern cross guard. Housed in its black leather covered scabbard with mounts, the top mount having HJ style eagle. Excellent condition blade etched with the motto ‘BLUT UND EHRE!’ Reverse of the blade with RZM mark and code M7/36 which is the code for E & F Horster Solingen. Overall a good example of one of the rarest WW2 German dress daggers.

Reverse of the blade has Puma makers trade mark and also marked RZM M7/27 1938. Some surface wear to the blade but generally a good example.

Standard pattern blade but with the early ‘Blut und Ehre!’ motto. Reverse side of the blade with RZM trade mark and M7/51 1936 being the code for Anton Wingen Jr.

I. 424”, same stamping to the reverse of the top dagger chape. Housed in its original leather scabbard with nickel plated fittings. Plain straight blade with fuller to the back edge. Alexander Coppel Solingen scales makers stamp to the obverse of the blade and full makers trade mark to the reverse. Some light scuffing to the leather work but otherwise a good example.

Generally a good example.

Rare WW2 German Land Customs Bayonet by Alexander Coppel Solingen, being the same design as that of the Police bayonet with stag horn grips and eagle head pommel, however the absence of the Police eagle to the centre of the grip and also the special customs pattern bayonet portepee attached. Housed in its original leather scabbard with plated mounts and leather bayonet frog attached. Fine plain blade with fuller to the back edged and makers mark of Alexander Coppel Solingen. Overall a very good example of a rare to find edged weapon of the Third Reich.

WW2 German Red Cross Enlisted Mans Hewer / Dagger, good example of an enlisted ranks Red Cross Hewer with two piece black grips, one side being chequered the other side smooth. Un-damaged cross guard having the DRK emblem to the centre. Housed in its original scabbard which has the original frog attached. Stamped to the reverse of the frog ‘ 4.K.p / F.L.T.S. Jü’. Standard blade with flat head tip and sawback edge to the blade. Stamped under the cross guard ‘GES GESCHUTZ’. Generally a good condition example. First example we have come across with a unit marked frog.

Third Reich Forestry Cutlass / Dagger by E & F Horster Solingen, good untouched example of a Third Reich period state foresters cutlass with two piece artificial bone handle with gilt metal acorn devices to both sides, one side has one loose and one damaged acorn. Plain gilt brass cross guard with clamshell and deer hoof, plain knuckle bow. Housed in its original leather scabbard with gilt mounts, top mount having acorn stud for the fitting of a leather frog. Blade is in very good overall condition retaining much of the original factory polish. Etched with hunting scenes to both sides of the blade and one side having the makers trade mark to the base. Generally a good example.

Finnish Puukko Knife Belonging to a German Army Doctor Hans Schurig, superbly detailed example of the traditional knife of the Finnish people known as a Puukko knife, this example with its ebony handle has been finely etched in silver with the rampant lion and shield insignia of the Finns and swastika below in circle, the reverse side with similar etching “An Dr med HANS SCHURIG Zur Errinerung von H&A KOSKENHOVI”, Very top of the dagger handle appears to have the date 1933. Dagger housed in traditional leather scabbard with motifs. Blade with lightly etched decoration and fuller to the back edge. Slightly curved blade. Some staining to the blade and some light areas of loss to the finish but generally a good example. It would appear that Koskenhovi is a small region of Finland, can only assume that Shurig was a doctor in this area. Worthy of further research.

Blade etched to one side with steel helmet and German army eagle bordering inscription in gothic script ‘ Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit’. No makers trade mark to the blade. Some plating lifting to the pommel but otherwise good example.

Housed in its original scabbard with leather bayonet frog attached. Blade with etching to one side, having foliage and gothic script “Fur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit beim Inftr-Regt 41 Bayr-Ostmark”, WKC trade mark to the base. Some light areas of plating lifting but otherwise good condition.

Historically Interesting German K98 Combat Bayonet Documenting the WW2 Service of Henry P Leath 18th Field Artillery Group, the bayonet is housed in the original scabbard of issue with leather bayonet frog. The pommel is impressed with the US veteran who captured the item “HENRY P LEATH”, the blade has been professionally engraved “18th Field Artillery Group – Normandy, France June 44 – Siegfried Line Germany Sept 44 – Battle of the Ardennes Jan 45 – Ruhr Pocket April 45 – Chemnitz Germany May 45”. Some wear but an interesting item.

Housed in the original scabbard (Saya) with brown leather field service scabbard cover. The blade with some surface staining and wear, but would suit a professional clean. Tang with four part signature marks. Generally good example.

Housed in the original scabbard with much of the original combat paint finish remaining. Attached to the grip is the original brown leather sword knot strap. Machine made katana blade with struck fuller to the edge. Numbered ‘142011’ and arsenal stamp to the blade with matching number to the scabbard throat. Overall a very good example of an NCO’s sword.

WW2 Japanese Type 30 Arisaka Bayonet Captured on Japanese Island of Okinawa 1945, superb example of a Japanese Type 30 Arisaka bayonet complete with two piece wooden grips, steel downturned cross guard with muzzle ring. Housed in its steel scabbard with finely painted by the GI who captured the bayonet, ‘GOT IT ON OKINAWA MAY 7TH 1945 IN NAHA’. Attached to the scabbard is the original leather bayonet frog. Excellent condition blade with fuller to the back edge. Arsenal marked for Howa Jyuko / Nagoya. The blade retains nearly all of the original blueing. Overall an excellent example of a souvenired Japanese Bayonet. See next two lots for Prayer (1000 stitch) belt and Japanese helmet also picked up on Okinawa by the same US veteran.
