Small areas of black patching. Brown patination to the hilt. The grip has minor bruising. The leather scabbard is scuffed and creased and is missing the locket.

A Prussian Model 1889 Pattern Infantry Officer's Degan Sword by Carl Eickhorn, the 76cm single edge double fullered steel blade with maker's mark of two back to back squirrels over C.E. (1906-1921), the steel hilt bearing traces of original gilding, the hinged guard pierced and cast with the Prussian eagle, the ribbed black stained horn grip bound with gilt wire and set with the royal cypher of Emperor Wilhelm II, the steel scabbard with single suspender ring, 95.5cm. Patching and fine pitting to blade and scabbard. The gilt is worn on the hilt which now has grey patching and pitting. The horn grip has a tiny area of wear below the pommel

Yataghan blade with fuller to back edge. Acceptance stamps to the forte. Some surface staining to the blade and metal fittings have surface rust, but generally a good example. Blade 58cms, overall 74 ½ cms.

A Second War Period Gurkha kukri knife, with engraved presentation plaque inscribed Captain Gaje Ghale VC 5th Royal Gurkha Rifles Burma 1943, the horn and brass-handled knife and miniature knives housed in the original ornate chased pierced and engraved unmarked Oriental silver-mounted scabbard, overall length 40cm. Captain Gaje Ghale was awarded the Victoria Cross as a Havildar (Sergeant) when leading a Platoon of young soldiers of the 5th Royal Gurkha Rifles along a knife-edge ridge to attack a Japanese stronghold, despite being wounded by a grenade he ignored his injuries and continued to throw grenades with his other arm and successfully fought to capture the position
