WW2 Japanese NCO’s Sword with Original Capture Documentation, fine example of a NCO’s pattern sword with one piece alloy handle retaining just remains of the original brown paint finish. Brass tsuba and arsenal marks to the Fuchi. Release catch to the side of the handle. Housed in its original metal scabbard (Saya) with brown leather combat field cover. Machine made blade having fuller to the full length of the back edge. Blade stamped “46317”, these numbers also appear on the scabbard throat mount. Some surface staining to the blade. The blade measures 69 ¾ cms, overall 96 ½ cms. Accompanying the sword is original documentation allowing 11424436 Bdr Whatmore W E 33 Liaison Staff, to be in possession of this sword which was “issued to him under the provisions of H C 34 Ind Corps letter No 190/1/A1 of 24th Oct, 45 governing the provision of Japanese trophies to those who took part in the reoccupation of Malaya”. Also accompanied by a photograph of Whatmore in tropical uniform.

WW2 Japanese Naval Officers Dirk, with brass mounted hilt, shallow “S” shaped cross guard, floral pommel top, fish skin grip with floral stud and original wire binding. Housed in its original scabbard having press stud release button, floral brass mounts and two suspension rings. Blade retains much of the original finish, measures 22 ½ cms, overall 38cms. Very good example overall.

Victorian Indian Army 1845 Pattern Officers Sword, regulation brass hilt with crowned VR cipher. Sharkskin grip with the original wire binding still in place. Housed in its original brass scabbard with two hanging rings. Single edged blade etched with foliage, crowned VR cipher and “R H R MADRAS ARMY” also etched below “1864 AdeCR 1883”. H Hart Pall Mall London retailers details to the reverse of the blade. Blade 82cms, overall 99 ½ cms. Some dents to the scabbard but generally a good untouched example.

Blade retains nearly all of the polished finish and remains in near mint condition. Blade measures 83cms, overall 101cms.

British Post 1902 Royal Navy Officers Dress Sword, with one piece half basket brass guard without folding rear section. Grip retains the original wire binding. Attached to the guard is a later applied officers dress portepee. Imperial crowned anchor to the centre of the cartouche. Blade with remains of etched decoration and makers details. Fuller to the back edge running three quarter length of the blade. The blade measures 80cms, overall 95 ½ cms. No scabbard.

Victorian Regulation Pattern Pioneers Sidearm, saw back blade struck with Birmingham inspector’s marks, stamped “MOLE” to the base and with etched retailers details of “ROBT MOLE &SONS MAKERS BIRMINGHAM”. Regulation brass stirrup hilt stamped with issue date 5 / 1893 and unit markings M. 4.N.S TF 8. In a regulation brass mounted leather scabbard, mouth of locket stamped M/3NF/1 4/93. Blade 57cms, overall 71cms. Generally good condition, the blade retaining much of the original polish finished. Small dent to the lower scabbard mount.
