WW2 Japanese Naval Officers Sword, untouched example with green cloth binding to the grip with flower pattern Menuki, Tsuba with pierced decoration. Gilt brass plain Fuchi. Plain copper Habaki. Housed in its black leather covered scabbard (Saya) with two hanging rings. Unsinged tang. Curved blade shows wear and has surface rusting. Blade measures 63 ½ cms, overall 91 cms.

Fish skin covered grip retaining wire binding. Housed in its original brass mounted leather scabbard. Blade etched with crowned anchor, foliage and Royal Warrant. Retailers details of Clement Grey, Sheffield to the base of the blade. Some surface staining to the blade. The blade measures 80 cms, overall 96 cms.
British 1831 General Officer Pattern Mameluke Dress Sword by Wilkinson Sword Belonging to Major Thomas William Beard MBE Worcestershire & Sherwood Foresters, Late Suffolk Regiment, Royal Lincolns and Anglian Regiment, fine example with gilt metal cross guard having crossed baton and sword to the centre, grip with gilt metal rose fittings. Housed in its plated steel scabbard with two hanging rings. Curved blade etched with foliage crowned EIIR cipher, Generals insignia to the others. Wilkinson Sword trade mark to the forte and the spine numbered “74465”. Some surface staining to the blade. The blade measures 83 cms, overall 98 ½ cms. George V 1897 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword Belonging to Major Thomas William Beard MBE Worcestershire & Sherwood Foresters, Late Suffolk Regiment, Royal Lincolns and Anglian Regiment, standard model sword with George V cipher to the centre of the dish guard. The grip retains the original wire binding. Leather portepee attached to the guard. Housed in the original leather covered scabbard. Polished straight blade etched with foliage, Royal Arms and George V cipher. Sword stamped “04132” to the spine. Blade has been heavily polished for parade wear. Blade measures 81 cms, overall 101 cms. Interestingly Major Beard was not a serving officer during the reign of George V, indicating that this was possibly a handed down sword. French Infantry Officers Sword, gilt brass shell guard with brass French style eagle to the centre, flat brass knucklebow leading to bulbous pommel. Polished horn grip retaining the original wire binding. Reverse folding guard engraved “A Malbes”. Double edged tapered blade with central ridge. Etching and armourers stamp to the lower section of the blade. Housed in its leather scabbard with top brass mount, lower chape missing. The blade measures 77 cms, overall 93 cms.

Very Rare WW2 Italian Naval Aviators High Ranking Officers Dress Sword, gilt brass large dish guard with Italian crowned fouled anchor to centre, Airforce style eagle head top pommel and white painted wooden grip retaining the original wire binding. Original officers bullion wire sword knot with blue fleck. Housed in its original leather and gilt mounted scabbard. Blade etched with foliage, trophies of arms and Italian eagle. Blade measures 77cms in length. Missing the securing post from the reverse of the scabbard and some splitting to the seem on the reverse of the scabbard but otherwise a good example of a scarce Italian sword.

WW1 Austrian M1915 Pioneers Sidearm, fine example with two piece wooden grips secured by three rivets, “S” shaped steel guard. Housed in its original steel scabbard with remains of the paint finish. Complete with its correct pattern large leather hanging frog. Thick single edged blade stamped to the forte with Budapest maker and Austrian army acceptance stamp and “15” for 1915 issue. Shows wear but generally good condition. Blade measures 38 ½ cms, overall 55 cms.

WW2 American Paratroopers M3 Fighting Knife Attributed to Corporal Robert H Cahoon Jr “C” Company 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment 101st Airborne Division who Parachuted into Normandy on D-Day, Parachuted into Holland as part of Operation Market Garden and was Wounded at Bastogne in 1944, Superb example of an early pattern M3 fighting knife having the original leather binding to the grip and steel top pommel. Steel guard with downward end. Partially double edged blade measuring just over 16 ½ cms in length. Blade stamped “U.S. M3 – UTICA”. Housed in its original 1943 dated M6 leather scabbard. Reverse of the scabbard is inked “C-7018” in two places, which is Cahoon’s laundry number. The knife remains in very good overall condition and is accompanied by a file of research. Robert H Cahoon Jr was born in 1922 and was from Muskegee, Oklahoma. He enlisted in Oklahoma City on 5th April 1942. He joined the paratroopers and jumped into Normandy on D-Day 5th/6th June 1944. He was heavily involved in the fighting for Ravenoville, Purple Heart Lane and Carentan. He survived the heavy combat in Normandy in which the 101st Airborne division were involved and was then sent back to the UK with the rest of the division. In September 1944 he made his second combat jump, this was into Holland as part of Operation Market Garden (Arnhem). During the battle for Bastogne in the winter of 1944, Corporal Cahoon was seriously wounded on 31st December 1944. He was awarded the Purple Heart and also the Bronze Star for gallantry during the battle of Bastogne. He spent many months in hospital recovering from his wounds, as a result of his wounds he was discharged from the army.

Grenadiers firing, 5 repaired rifles, 2 replaced scabbards, 1 missing bayonet. Advancing figures, 1 is recast, 1 scabbard incomplete. Additional figure has replacement musket which is in 2 pcs.

An Edward VII Royal Navy Midshipman's dirk, retailed by Gieves, Matthews and Seagrams, the scabbard locket bearing the engraved initials CPB[Possibly that of Sir Cuthbert Patrick Blake, Bt. was born at Pimlico, London, on 2 January 1885, the son of Sir Patrick Blake, 5th Baronet, and entered the Royal Navy as Midshipman on 15 May 1900, serving in H.M.S. Britannia. Commissioned Sub Lieutenant, 15 December 1904, he was promoted Lieutenant on 1 April 1907 and Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April 1915. He served during the Great War in command of the destroyer H.M.S. Termagant, was Mentioned in Despatches (London Gazette 6 July 1916), and took part in the Battle of Jutland, 31 May 1916: Vice-Admiral Sir David Beatty reported that, ‘having defeated the enemy destroyers, he gallantly pressed home the attack with torpedoes on the enemy battle-cruisers’ (London Gazette 15 September 1916), and Blake was consequently awarded the D.S.O. and the Russian Order of St. Anne, 3rd Class, with Swords, ‘for distinguished service rendered in the Battle of Jutland’ (London Gazette 5 June 1917). Several times recommended for promotion during the Great War, he was finally promoted Commander on 3 January 1928. He succeeded his father as 6th Baronet of the Baronetcy Blake of Langham on 15 January 1930, and died, heirless, at Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, on 27 June 1975.]

An 1821 Pattern Light Cavalry Sword Marked To The 13th Light Dragoons (First Wave Of The Charge Of The Light Brigade 1854) A rare sword, dating to the Battle Of Balaclava, the blade impressed with Board Of Ordnance proof mark, the guard impressed '13 L D, A, 59'. Complete with original steel scabbard with two loose hanging rings and large shoe. Comprising a steel three bar hilt which was developed to provide superior hand protection in comparison with the stirrup hilt. The grip in ebonised wood with steel pommel, finished with original white kid lanyard finishing in traditional Acorn knot. Blade length, 35.5 inches, some small nicks to blade edge.
