Luftwaffe 1st Pattern Officers Dress Dagger by SMF Solingen, good untouched example of an aluminium mounted 1st pattern Luftwaffe officers dress dagger. The blue leather grip retains the original wire binding. Top pommel with mobile swastikas to both sides. Winged cross guard with mobile swastikas to the centre with much of the gilt remaining. Housed in the original leather covered scabbard with aluminium mounts and hanging chains. Very good condition plain double edged blade with acceptance stamp and SMF Solingen makers trademark. The blade measures 30cms, overall 49cms.
Luftwaffe 2nd Pattern Officers Dress Dagger with Hanging Straps by Carl Eickhorn Solingen, an interesting example of a 2nd pattern dress dagger which appears to have been made up of original parts, probably produced by one of the dagger factories in 1945 to sell as a souvenir to British or American troops. The dagger has a blue leather covered grip for a 1st pattern Luftwaffe dress dagger, aluminium top pommel with swastika to both sides, aluminium 2nd pattern cross guard. Housed in an earlier pattern 2nd pattern scabbard which has a pair of deluxe pattern velvet backed brocade hanging straps for a Luftwaffe officers dagger. Carl Eickhorn Solingen trade mark to the base of the blade. Some surface staining to the blade. The blade measures 24 ½ cms, overall 42 ½ cms. At the end of WW2, the German manufacturers had a large quantity of fittings left over and would assemble daggers to sell to the abundance of allied service men in Germany who were looking for souvenirs to take home, as a result the factories did not stick to the regulations and protocols they worked under the Third Reich so you do often see miss-matches or parts daggers like these.

The blade remains in near mint condition with standard anchor etched blade. Carl Eickhorn, Solingen makers trade mark to the base. Blade measures 25cms, overall 42cms. An excellent example which remains in mint condition.

Third Reich Police Dress Bayonet by P D Luneschloss Solingen, good untouched example with two piece stag horn grips having aluminium Police eagle insignia inserted to the centre. Housed in its original scabbard with nickel silver fittings. Rear cross guard and rear of scabbard mount both stamped “S.D. IV 130”. Attached to the scabbard is the original leather bayonet frog with its fire police dress knot / portepee attached. Single edged plated blade with fuller to the back edge. Makers trademark to the base of the blade. Some areas of surface rust which would probably clean off. Blade measures 33cms, overall 48cms.
Third Reich RAD Labour Service Dagger by Solinger Axt und Hauerfabrik, fine example with two piece stag horn grips, much of the original nickel silver plating remains to the exterior fittings. Housed in its original scabbard with some rusting to the blackened central section. Standard pattern blade with motto “Arbeit adelt”. Reverse with the horse head trade mark of Solinger Axt und Hauerfabrik, GES GESCH and RADJ in triangle. Some light surface staining to the blade but generally a good example of a scarce maker for this dagger. Blade measures 24 ½ cms, overall 39 ½ cms.
Third Reich RAD Labour Service Dagger Hanger, good example of the special pattern brown leather hanger for the RAD enlisted mans hewer dagger. Complete with the original nickel silver clip which is stamped to the reverse with RAJD in triangle and GES GESCH. Reverse of the hanger also stamped with Berlin makers details and 1935 date. Some wear but generally still good condition. Accompanied by an original scabbard for a 2nd model Luftwaffe officers dress dagger. (2 items)
Third Reich Red Cross Officers Dress Dagger with Hangers and Portepee, untouched as found example of a Red Cross officers dress dagger complete with its original dark orange grip having the original dress portepee attached. Cross guard with emblem of the DRK (Deutsche Rotes Kreuz). Original scabbard with a surface rust to the exterior. Accompanying the dagger are an original set of the velvet backed brocade hanging straps (one clip damaged). Near mint condition blade which retains nearly all of the original finish and cross graining, probably only been out of the scabbard a handful of times since the end of WW2. The blade measures 25cms, overall 38cms. The vendors father was stationed in Germany at the end of 1945, he was barracked at a Military Hospital in lower Saxony where it was believed this dagger and the enlisted mans version in the next lot were surrendered to him. They were discovered in his loft after his death a few years back and then were placed in the loft of the current vendor until now being offered to the collectors market. A true loft find.

Complete with the original scabbard which has leather frog attached. Very good condition blade with sawback edge and fuller to the back edge. Marked under the cross guard “GES GESCHUTZ”. The blade measures 26 ½ cms, overall 41 ½ cms. The vendors father was stationed in Germany at the end of 1945, he was barracked at a Military Hospital in lower Saxony where it was believed this dagger and the officers version in the previous lot were surrendered to him. Hitler Youth Pattern Bayonet, being a standard model parade bayonet but the Hitler Youth diamond to the centre, this example has had the diamond removed, probably by a trophy hunter who wanted the badge and not the bayonet at the end of 1945. You can make out where the diamond was in the grip. The rest of the bayonet is a standard parade pattern bayonet without its scabbard. Accompanied by a standard model dress bayonet with two piece chequered grips. Housed in its original scabbard with a brown bayonet frog attached. Plain blade with fuller to back edge and WKC makers trademark. The blade is slightly tipped. Blade measures 25cms, overall 40 ½ cms. Both of these bayonets were picked up as souvenirs by the current vendors father when he was stationed in Germany as part of the BAOR (British Army of the Rhine). He was stationed in lower Saxony and collected these items along with the two previous lots and the Hermann Goring book in lot ---. These Hitler Youth bayonets were given to very few members of the HJ, only boys who performed guard duties at the Third Reich rallies were issued these.
WW2 German K98 Bayonet with Matching Numbers, good example of a standard model K98 combat bayonet with waffenamt stamps to the rear, two piece bakelite grips and housed in its steel scabbard. Attached to the scabbard is the original leather bayonet frog. The blade and scabbard are both stamped with the matching number “7997 h”. Rear of the blade stamped “41 cof”. Much of the original blueing remains to the blade. The blade measures 25cms, overall 40 ½ cms.
WW2 German K98 Bayonet with Marine Marked Frog, well worn miss-matched numbered K98 bayonet with bakelite grips, housed in steel scabbard which has lost all of its original finish. Scabbard stamped on reverse with makers stamp and “N 4157”. Attached to the scabbard is the original black leather bayonet frog which has German marine acceptance stamp and unclear makers details. Blade with fuller to back edge. Stamped “42 cof” and “981 d”. One part of the securing strap on the frog is now absent and the bayonet shows service wear overall. Blade measures 25cms, overall 40 ½ cms.
Good British 1912 Pattern Cavalry Officers Sword, regulation blade by Wilkinson’s, etched and polished with crowned GRI ciphers, royal arms and foliage, and struck at forte with India Service Department stamp, regulation plated guard, wire-bound fish skin covered grip, leather dress knot, in its leather field service scabbard stamped C broad arrow 15 on the nickel throat and Ga1934, C broad arrow 9 on the leather top. Blade 89cms. Fine condition.
George V 1897 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword by Wilkinson, regulation pattern example with crowned George V cipher to the centre of the hilt. Grip retains the original wire binding. Housed in its brown leather covered field service scabbard which is marked to the reverse with Wilkinson Sword details. Regulation pattern blade etched with foliage etc. Wilkinson Sword makers mark to the forte and numbered to the edge 63145. Some wear to the blade.
British 1908 Pattern Cavalry Troopers Sword, fine example of the special pattern cavalry sword which was widely used in the early part of WW1. The large guard which retains much of the original paint finish. Original grip handle. Housed in its steel scabbard with much of the original paint finish and two fixed hanging rings. Plain straight blade with fuller to the back edge. Various issue stampings to the forte and 15 (1915) date. Very fine example.
WW2 Japanese Cavalry Sword, chequered wooden grip with steel guard and back strap. Catch release to the back of the grip, machine made blade with fuller to the back edge, blade numbered 79302. Housed in the original scabbard with single ring fitting. Exterior shows heavy wear but the blade is in generally good condition. Blade measures 76 ¾ cms, overall 94cms.

Guard with central cartouche of crowned anchor. Fold down catch to the reverse. Complete with its original leather scabbard with gilt metal mounts. Regulation pattern etched blade with crowned EIIR cipher. Wilkinson Sword makers mark and spine stamped with number “1109562”. Blade 78 ½ cms, overall 96cms.
Good Cut and Polished Steel Court Sword, 20th century, hollow ground polished triangular-section blade etched with polearms, drum and scrolls, regulation hilt with raised stud work, in its patent leather scabbard with polished steel mounts, contained in its chamois leather lined oil-skin bag. Blade79cms. Fine condition retaining nearly all original polish, minor rust spots.

Victorian British Lee Metford Bayonet, fine example with two piece wooden slab grips secured by brass rivets and oil cleaning hole to the top pommel. Stamped to the pommel “C * C” and the reverse “614”. Housed in its original leather and steel scabbard with brown leather bayonet frog attached. Blade with various issue stampings etc. The blade remains in excellent overall condition. The blade measures 30 ½ cms, overall 44cms.
British 1903 Pattern Bayonet, fine example with two piece wooden grips secured by two steel screws. Pommel with pierced oil cleaning hole. Stamped to the pommel “AOC R281”, these same stampings are on the top scabbard mount. Housed in the leather scabbard with steel mounts. Double edged blade with medial ridge. Various issue stampings to the forte including crowned GR 1903. Blade 30 ½ cms, overall 44 ½ cms.
WW1 Grenadier Guards Regimentally Marked 1907 Hook Quillon Bayonet and Owner 08 Pattern Waist Belt, very nice example of a early model 1907 bayonet with hooked quillon and 1st pattern scabbard with the internal lower chape fitting. The bayonet with its two wooden slab grips and the top pommel with regimental stampings “G. G. R 1176”. Very good condition single edged blade with fuller to the back edge. Blade made by Sanderson and with various issue stampings. Blade measures 43cms in length. The bayonet is still housed in the original 08 pattern webbing frog attached to the wide pattern 08 webbing waist belt. The belt is stamped to the Grenadier Guards and appears to be dated 1916, although this is not clear. Also ink stamped with regimental number, also not clear. Overall a superb example of a very collectable British bayonet from WW1.
British 1855 Lancaster Bayonet, interesting example being a cut down version of the 1855 Lancaster carbine bayonet as issued to the Sappers & Miners and Medical Staff Corps. The bayonet has the brass hilt with circular hole to the centre. Black chequered grips and brass cross guard with muzzle ring. The scabbard of black leather and brass mounts. Top scabbard mount has had the frog stud removed and brass loops added. Cut down blade with various acceptance stamps and stamped “S&K”. Blade 38 ½ cms, overall 52cms. Leather shrunk so small gap between bayonet and scabbard mount when sheathed.
British 1887 Pattern Mk III Sword Bayonet, regulation blade stamped with crowned VR, WILKINSON SWORD COMPANY LONDON, issue stamp 1889, various inspectors marks, steel crosspiece incised with Hindi inscription, regulation hilt and brass mounted leather scabbard. Blade 46.5cms. Good clean condition, some age wear.

American P-17 Bayonet, with two piece wooden grips, housed in its original leather and steel mounted scabbard with belt fitting. Blade with US acceptance marks and dated 1917. Accompanied by a re-finished British 1903 pattern bayonet, probably issued to Indian troops, with leather and steel scabbard, attached to the scabbard is webbing frog. (2 items)
Rare Special Operations Executive (S.O.E) Assassination Sleeve Dagger, all steel one piece dagger with triangular scooped blade. Correctly un-marked. Complete with its original brown leather scabbard with leather strap attachment piece to the top of the scabbard. The blade measures 9cms, overall 18 ¾ cms. These daggers were designed to be carried by S.O.E agents who were dropped behind enemy lines as they could be concealed in a sleeve and easily accessed for close hand to hand combat or to take out an enemy sentry quickly. As with most items issued to the SOE they were not marked with any makers stamps in-case of capture.
British 3rd Pattern Fairbairn Sykes (F.S) Commando Knife, with blackened bronze one piece ribbed grip and nut fitting to the handle. The ferrule with cross keys and “3”, unmarked oval guard. Double edged stiletto blade with some of the original blueing remaining. Some surface rusting to the blade. Housed in a leather scabbard with stud fittings. Blade 17 ½ cms, overall 31cms. Tip of scabbard damaged. Accompanied by a Scandinavian small hunting sheaf knife and a bone handled knife in a leather scabbard. (3 items)
WW2 British Fairbairn Sykes (F.S) Commando Dagger & Paperwork Grouping of Operation Infatuate Interest, being a standard 3rd pattern commando knife with ribbed blackened brass one piece grip, top pommel stamped “4”. Plain oval guard. Double edged stiletto blade retaining much of the original blueing remaining. Housed in the original leather scabbard with blackened brass lower chape. Accompanying the dagger is a file of paperwork belonging to the original owner, including a large folding map case / board, Air Ministry produced panorama intelligence planning photographs of the Dutch islands which were attacked during Operation Infatuate, various wartime and early post war publications, interesting grouping of maps relating to various areas of Holland including Arnhem. Sadly we have not been able to find any name to the grouping. All came to the current vendor together.
