He had been recovering from an injury, so was not with his unit when they landed and had to follow on later. He was not a Commando, so the knife was not one that had been issued to him.1 - Blade has been sharpened, rust pitting to the surface particularly on one side near the tip. The crossguard and grip are a little jiggly as the pommel nut is not present. The pommel had an H shape incision which has raised the metal and fixed the tang in place. 2 - Orange rust pitting to the blade at the ricasso. Some cracks and loss of inlay to the grip. 3 - no visible damage.
