Genuine WW2 Model M33 SS Dress Dagger manufactured by Boker Solingen with Gruppe mark I for Munich, all nickel fittings suggesting c1935 manufacture, SS motto 'Meine Ehre Heibt Treue' to the blade the condition is very good, the scabbard has a single small dent to the front, the pommel has dent from being dropped, there is loss to the anodising. The hanger shows wear and use, the leather has separated from the stud at the rear and the clip has indistinct markings and has signs of corrosion. the blade has clear motto and maker mark with some pitting to the steel. the walnut handles are undamaged with some marks to the wood and all nickel fittings are very good. the dagger presents in lazy, fresh to the market, uncleaned, unrestored and as found condition, original in every way.

This lot also requires CITES. Charles Richard Banastre Legh was born at Adlington in 1821 to Thomas (Crosse) Legh and Louisa Newnham. He married Mary Jane Arabella Wright of Mottram Hall and was the father of Florence Hester Lavinia Legh. Throughout his life we held the positions of Justice of the Peace and Deputy Lieutenant of Cheshire. He died in 1888. Condition Report: The cased sword and scabbards are in very bright condition with almost no wear. The glass lid is bevelled.The shamshir has three or four nicks to the blade and even patina overall and historic wear. No martingale.
