Gilt brass pierced guard and crowned “GR” knuckle bow (possibly repaired and partly replaced). Gilt brass lion mask pommel and backstrap. Gilt ferrule. Shagreen covered grip with twist wire binding. Contained in its blackened leather scabbard with gilt brass mounts. The throat mount with rope edged panel engraved “R Johnston Late Bland & Foster Sword Cutler & Belt Maker To His Majesty 68 St James St London”. Good professionally restored example.
