A WWII Second World War Showa Period Shin Gunto officers sword katana having a tsuka bound hilt with ray skin and menuki, seppa, pierced floral tsuba, kabatu-gane, machined blade and leather scabbard. The sword comes with a Japanese military photo album, once belonging to the same owner containing photographs of pictures of family and groups of soldiers. Blade measures; 64cm.
A 19th century Russian model 1827 pioneer sword, having a ribbed brass handle and sawback blade, in a brass mounted leather scabbard, stamped M3 and II to the ricasso and impressed marks to handle, 71cm long. This type of sword was issued to the Russian pioneers, the equivalent to the engineers in the English military and was used extensively during the Crimean War in the 1850's. The heavy toothed blade could be used as a weapon, but also served as a practical tool.

OUGHTRED B.C. Footnote:- Mr Norman Oughtred was approved by King George V as Consul of Bolivia at Hull on July 16, 1923 - see London Gazette, 31 July, 1923 and The Edinburgh Gazette, August 3, 1923. Uniform in good clean condition, no sign of moth damage. Hat with some wear to the lower edge. Sword in good condition. Tin trunk with some rust patching to the exterior.

Minor wear to the scabbard and mounts. 2 - Blade very thin and bendy, spike with rust pitting.

Blade with delamination type marks and black patching. Loose crack to lower section of grip. Three small dents to scabbard on one side.

Dagger has black pitting to the blade. The scabbard has two dents to one side. The stitching on the belt is perished in places. The double tangs and buckle have green corrosion.

Aikuchi with 3cm chip to blade edge below habaki, orange rust pitting to blade, unable to remove hilt fittings to view tang; Wakizashi with deep orange rust pitting to blade and sections of bone scabbard have seperated, some with cracks and breaks. Pistol with orange rust pitting to metalwork, action seized, lacks cock, some loss of wood to fore-end. Bayonets with rust pitting to metal on hilt and scabbards. Sword with blade rusted into scabbard.

Avril 1866...., the brass three bar hilt stamped 25 and with remnants of wire to the grip, with steel scabbard, 110cm; a 19th Century Continental Infantry Hanger, the blade stamped 1SC/160 at the ricasso, rusted into the steel mounted leather scabbard, the brass stirrup hilt with downswept quillon and ribbed grip, 102cm (2). 1 - Rust pitting and grey patching to the blade. Wire binding to the hilt has unravelled with some loss. Orange rust pitting to the scabbard. 2 - Blade is rusted into the scabbard, the locket is loose. No visible marks to hilt.
A British 1796 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Officer's Undress Sword, 83cm double edge steel blade with a central narrow fuller to each side, the brass hilt with boat shape guard, double quillons, stirrup knuckle bow and silver wire bound ribbed grip, lacks scabbard, 100.5cm; a 1796 Pattern Infantry Sword, with 81cm single edge fullered steel blade, the gilt brass hilt with folding double shell guard, stirrup knuckle bow, silver wire bound grip and foliate sheathed urn pommel, lacks scabbard, 98cm (2). Cavalry sword has grey patching and greasy pitted dirt to the surface of the blade. The grip has lost a 2.5cm patch of silver wire binding to the top part. The infantry sword has grey patching and orange rust pitting to the blade, a a nick to the edge. The gilt is very worn on the hilt. The knuckle bow has come away from the pommel and there is some loss of the wire binding. Both lack scabbards.

Sword blade is reduced in length, pitting to blade and hilt. Briar cane with small chip to bark at pommel. No damage to other sticks.

Khanda - Rust pitting to blade whic has a rounded tip. Grey patching and dents to hilt. Axe - Brown pitting and wear to head, with a small crack. Socket is loose on the haft.
