A WWII German Officers Kriegsmarine Dagger. The dagger with orange grip (un-wired) with folded eagle pommel, fullered steel blade, approx 25 cms, together with a hammered scabbard with laurel decoraton, the cross-guard features an anchor, attached to the scabbard is a set of black silk hangers with brass lion mask buckles, the blade bears the mark for Carl Eickhorn Solingen.

This lot is sold with a Copy of the Personal Diary of Wladyslaw Grzelak 'The Neverending Thread'. Provenance: Wladyslaw Grzelak was a Lieutenant in the 3rd Battalion of the Polish Parachute Brigade. He successfully saw action at the September 1944 Arnhem Offensive 'Operation Market Garden' and was one of a handful of Poles to successfully cross the Rhine to join the beleaguered British Paras in the town. In 2017 his memoirs were self-published by his family and are on record at the IWM and Sikorsky Institute. This knife is offered for sale from his own collection and have remained in the family until today.
WWII German Bayonet and Scabbard K98. The K98 bayonet and scabbard benefit from a wooden grip, the bayonet is marked with the German eagle and nr Vla 253. The blade marked Solingen W.K/C 5532.
