Caucasian Kindjal dagger with appearing horn handle and fluted and engraved blade in associated non original scabbard (tip reshaped), together with an Asian Kris type dagger in white metal mounted wooden scabbard with wooden handle. (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Kindjal blade length 32cm approx, overall 41cm approx. Foliate engraved each side, blade reshaped.
A complete cast copper-alloy sword belt fitting of probable 17th century date, c. 1600-1650. The object consists a broadly shield-shaped plate decorated with symmetrical foliate motifs, at the apex of which is a solid integrally cast suspension loop. Three circular apertures arranged in a triangle are visible (now clogged with iron corrosion products), probably reflecting the means by which the mount itself was attached to the scabbard. Length: 45mm.Provenance: from the collection of a metal detectorist.
A rare antique 1796 Pattern British Heavy Cavalry Trooper's sword. Shallow fullered blade, with inspector’s stamp in fuller at forte, pierced disc guard, and plain rounded pommel. Leather grips. Maker's marks to edge for Sohlingen. Within it's original steel scabbard. Measures approx; 106cm long. (Addition 5/8/2019 at 15:49) - it has been pointed out that this sword is possibly a reproduction item. Buyers are reminded for the need to satisfy themselves as to authenticity and condition prior to bidding, irrespective of description.
