A good Officers’ silver mounted dirk of The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, polished blade 11”, studded writhen darkwood hilt, the pommel inset with glass citrine, in its black leather scabbard, the mounts embossed with regimental badges in writhen monster headed snake panels, companion knife and fork, the citrine set grips en suite with dirk, the mounts are Hallmarked Edinburgh 1898 and with maker’s name R & H B Kirkwood, Edinburgh. McC Robertson”, regulation pierced plated guard incorporating crowned EIIR cypher, chequered backstrap, wirebound simulated fishskin grip, in its plated scabbard with 2 rings and gilt and crimson dress knot, complete with chamois cover and limp black leather case.
