Sword: A fine German 19th century court dress sword; Top of blade marked 'M. NEUMANN HOFLIEFERANT BERLIN' (purveyor to the Court of Berlin). Blade 32" of pipe back form with gilt and blued decoration. Ornate hilt in gilt brass with heraldic shield (3 birds and a leek?). Wirebound fishskin grip. Backstrap with ornate decoration, large lions head pommel with ruby? eyes. In its polished steel scabbard with rust patination A lovely sword and fine example of the German swordsmith art.

Gilt mounts in its brass mounted leather scabbard in its original carrying case marked 'S.J.S'. With bullion knot. In good original condition. A 'sleeper'.
