Good swollen blade with cut fuller and sawback edge. Blade stamped with acceptance stamp and crown over W 17 for 1917. Forte stamped “WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER AG OBLRNDORF a”. Blade remains in good overall condition. Blade length 36 ½ cms, overall 53 ½ cms.

Reverse of the quillon is stamped with regimental markings for 23rd Pioneer Battalion, regiment number not clear. Missing scabbard. Blade 36 ½ cms, overall 50cms.

The blade is polished and etched both sides with “12 SS Panzer Division Hitlerjugend” and “Meine Ehre heist Treue”. Remains in good condition with a later copy leather bayonet frog attached to the scabbard. Engraving parts are post war additions in our opinion.
