A 19th Century Spanish cavalry sword, slightly curved blade 35 in. with narrow back fuller and narrow fuller to the front edge of the (un-sharpened) forte, marked `Arta Fa D Toledo 1854`, pierced steel guard incised with allover foliate decoration, fishskin covered grips, steel scabbard with twin suspension rings.
A presentation mounted British No 5 type rifle bayonet, on a wooden board with scabbard and a plaque inscribed `to Major Playford from the RM Coy S.E.M.E, the blade inscribed, `Royal Marines/ A Cut Above`; together with a combination desk blotter and stamp box, with RM badge set to the top, also presented to Major Playford. (2).
A kris, wavy blade 13 1/2 in with short fullers to the forte, faceted grip with carved details, scabbard with up-swept top and metal clad lower part; another kris, straight blade 14 in., faceted grip with carved details, scabbard with kidney shaped top and metal clad lower part, both possibly Javan. An Afghan sword pulouar, heavy curved blade 30 1/2 in. with narrow twin fullers and a 7 3/4 `false` back edge, stamped mark close to the hilt, all steel hilt with down-turned quillons, langets with shaped terminals, slightly swollen grip, hemispherical pommel with spiral fluting, lacks scabbard.
A Turkish shamshir, curved multi-fullered blade 31 1/2 in., probably of European manufacture and with sun and moon talismans to the forte; hilt with horn grips curving to the characteristically large pommel, steel guard with knucklebow, small langets, down-turned rear quillon with acorn terminal; lacks scabbard.
