AN EASTERN SWORD. A large yatagan shaped blade eastern sword, with chequered wooden grip and pommel in the Kukri hilt style. The 2.1/4" wide blade of 30.3/4" in length, is extremely sharp with a 4" clipped end. In an ornately carved wooden scabbard (one-side) with plain reverse side.

A 19thC TIGERS POMMEL TULWAR SWORD. A cast brass hilted Tulwar sword with Tigers head pommel and decorative grip and crossguard. In the style of those used by Tippoo Sultans army, among other Indian Princes troops. Some patches of rust evident on the 26.1/2" blade, lacking a 1/4" approx of the tip. Complete with its wooden red velvet covered scabbard, lacking a chafe. See Illustration

With a family crest and owners initials possibly A W J, also a Crown over VR with R A device. On the other side of the 33" blade is again a Crown over VR also a cannon and Ubique, above a grenade. Crisp details to the blade amid foiliage designs, complete with a steel scabbard.

A 19thC SWORD & SCABBARD. An interesting 19thC sword with Lions Head pommel and cast brass crossguard. complete with its steel scabbard. The guard has langets which fit over the scabbard and are set into the plain wooden grip, lacking its covering. The 35" length straight blade has a three-quarter narrow fuller and a full length central fuller. Possibly made for an eastern rulers arsenal, of some quality.

A 1796 BLUE & GILT INFANTRY OFFICERS SWORD. A 1796 Infantry officers pattern sword complete with its original leather/gilt fittings scabbard. The blade lacks any visible makers name, 31.1/2" long with full length fuller, also a folding shell guard. The hilt in gilt finish and having a wire wrapped grip, also the scabbard mounts in are a gilt plated finish. See Illustration

Design permits wearing it as a close fitting sword, lacking a folding guard or scroll quillion. The blade of slightly curved single-edged style of 29.1/2" in length, the scabbard would accept a 2" longer blade.

Both blade and the brass hilt have the VRI cypher, also leaf and foiliage designs. Complete with a plated steel scabbard, it would appear to have been made and purchased in 19thC India.

The exceptionally clean 33" blade has no makers mark, appears to be though of good quality. VR under a crown with foiliage decoration on the blade with three-quarter fullers, the copper wire in the grip is in good order.

The steel scabbard with D Egg Hay Market London engraved in one cartouche. 3 Regiment Bucks Yeomanry 1803, on the other side of the scabbard, October 21 1803 or 5 amid foilage decoration, below the cartouche. Steel hilt with wire wrapped wooden grip, the guard and backstrap of steel. The clipped point blade of some 33.1/2", is decorated with GR, Trophies and other designs, all with gilt infill. Lacking a scabbard, the blade with large and narrow three-quarter fullers.

Complete with steel scabbard also issue marked, both blade and scabbard appear to be of good condition under the lacquer coatings.

AN R N R OFFICERS SWORD & SCABBARD. A Royal Naval Reserve officers sword and scabbard, with imperial crown and R N R in the guard. The blade with Imperial crown and Dieu et Mon Droit amid foiliage, is some 31.1/2" in length. It appears to have been repaired at some time, by brazing around two thirds along its length. Traces of the maker or suppliers name remain, the scabbard of brass mounts and leather.
