An ERII R Naval officer’s sword, straight fullered blade, 32”, etched with crowned ERII on one side and crowned fouled anchor on the other, all in roped oak wreath panels, regulation gilt semi basket hilt incorporating crowned fouled anchor and with turn down inner portion which locks to scabbard, lion’s head pommel and backstrap, wirebound white fish skin grip, in its black PL scabbard (2 worn patches and small kink) with gilt locket, middle band and chape, with 2 rings. GC retaining most original gilt and some blade polish (some rust stains and very light pitting, knucklebow mis-shapen)

A scarce WWII small machete, DE blade 9½” with lightly struck crocodile trademark, “Registered”, maker’s name “Martindale”, broad arrow and date 1943, chequered composition grips secured by 3 large studs, in its brown leather scabbard with leg straps, stamped with broad arrow and “B.H.C 1943”; specially made for paratroops operating in the Far East. A Persian medieval revival sword. Qjar dynasty, straight DE watered blade 68cms cut with a single fuller and inlaid with 2 brass script cartouches, iron hilt with down-turned quillons, chiselled overall with shaped devices containing birds, busts and flower heads with faint traces of gilding, in its velvet re-covered scabbard with twin iron hanging bands decorated en suite with the hilt. G.C. (the blade preserved in particularly good condition). £150-300
A North Sumatran sword luju alang. 19th century, broad straight pattern welded SE blade 54cms cut with a single fuller, integral iron ferule of lotus shape inlaid with gold petals, horn hilt with bi-furcated pommel, in its foliate engraved wooden scabbard with ivory top carved with foliage and inlaid with black lacquer.
