A copy of this letter will be available to the successful buyer.

A First World War US Naval Officer's Sword, the 73cm single edge fullered steel blade etched with fouled anchor, scrolling foliage and original owner's name LIEUT.A.MALCOM, 1918, the brass hilt with dolphin cast knuckle bow, the guard pierced and cast with acorns and oak leaves enclosing USN, with ribbed cream painted fishskin grip and brass mounted leather scabbard, 90cm; a 1907 Remington bayonet, lacks scabbard; a German K98 Bayonet, lacks grip scales, spring and scabbard (3). Patching and nicks to the edge of the blade. The hilt and blade are a little jiggly. The grip has been later painted cream. The scabbard has two taped breaks to the leather.

Grey patching to blade. The scabbard is split and the mounts are loose.

Interior of hilt with rust pitting. Scuffing to scabbard. All foils have pitting to blades.

A Fairbairn Sykes F.S.Fighting Knife, 2nd Pattern by Wilkinson Sword Ltd., London, the 15.5cm hand forged double edge steel blade with maker's mark etched within a panel to one side of the ricasso, the opposing side etched THE F.S.FIGHTING KNIFE, with blackened steel crossguard, blackened brass chequered grip and mounted leather scabbard, the elasticated strap replaced with a leather strap; a French M1866 Chassepot Yataghan Sword Bayonet, with St.Etienne T section steel blade, lacks scabbard (2). 1 - Fine brown pitting/dirt to the blade. The hilt has a small blemish above the crossguard with a further ding to the pommel and knut. The scabbard has a later leather strap to replace the original elasticated one. 2 - Nicks to edge of blade, with signs of resharpening.
