A shamshir dating: mid-19th Century provenance: Turkey Wide, sightly curved, single-edged blade with triple groove, at the forte an inscription in Arabic surmounted by crescent and star; hilt with engraved, silver cross-quillon featuring remains of gilding; grip with wooden grip scales. Wooden scabbard with leather covering, mounts of embossed silver, three suspension rings. The sabre does not perfectly fit in the scabbard. dimensions: length 92 cm.
