A Victorian Royal Naval dress sword to Arthur Baggaley, with 78.5cm acid etched blade by Seagrove & Co, with wire bound fish skin grip, engraved on the lock tab 'A Baggaley R.N, V.R', with scabbard and leather case initialled 'K.F.S' (3) CONDITION REPORT: Blade with three rust patches to one side and two to the other side. Other lesser marks and rusting to the blade. Fish skin grip grubby, one of the wire sections a little loose. General dulled appearance to the brass hilt. Dulling also to the mounts of the scabbard, latter mount to scabbard a little loose. Case worn throughout and with some perishing.
A fine quality silver gilt presentation marmeluke sword, makers initials SH, Birmingham, 1818, retailed by Mackay and Cunningham Edinburgh, the blade with blue and gilt presentation inscription, list of subscribers names (indistinct but two may be C. French and F Murray?) and dated 1818 with Royal cipher. (There is a number partly visible with the upper garter type belt - possibly 'The 94th'?) The crosspiece chased with foliage, ivory grip with yellow metal pique work, bullion dress knot, the scabbard mounts engraved with Britannia, trophy of arms, thistle, lion, flowers and 'centurion', suspension loops each in the form of a laurel wreath, sword 90cm. History: The vendor purchased a storage building in Shrewsbury in 1972 and this sword, among other items, came with the acquisition, simply lying on the storage shelves. Here the sword remained until the vendors sold the building many years later when it was removed and stored in a loft.Condition: The sword is very grubby throughout. The blade has various levels of rusting throughout the length. The blue and gilt decoration on the blade is partly visible although it is very hard to read / obscured. The fish skin panels to the scabbard are perished / lacking. The scabbard is slightly bent. Much of the gilt surface to the silver appears to be fair. There are hall marks to the top of the scabbard and the back of the crosspiece. Attention will be needed. (At fault)
A Victorian British 1847 pattern Infantry officers sword, with 81.5cm Buckmaster acid etched blade, wire bound fish skin grip and small ivory insert to the brass pommel, the scabbard engraved with a motto 'Mot pot mot' above initials C.J.M and '1st K.O.S.M', possibly Kings Own Staffordshire Militia?, (at fault) CONDITION REPORT: Please note: Trevanion & Dean does not ship items containing ivory outside the EU.

A Chinese trousse or eating set, in a shagreen and silver coloured metal scabbard, the knife with a hardstone handle, and the blade with yellow coloured metal type inlay, most of the shagreen is missing, there is some green paint to simulate it, the scabbard is split and with slight loss, 32 cm long (overall) See illustration Condition report Report by NGWooden sleeve is split and broken with pieces missing and shagreen is almost all removed and green paint is visible, crack to top of bottom of chop sticks. Blade rusted and end of knife handle with chips and metal not central.Metal mounts to scabbard grubby.
