Imperial German Kurmark Dragoon Regiment 14 Officers Sword, steel dish guard with Imperial German crowned eagle to the centre, steel top pommel and polished ribbed handle. Partially fullered single edged blade measuring 80 ½cms in length. Blade is etched with foliage, trophies of arms and regimental details. Early type WKC makers trade mark to the base of the blade. Some surface staining to the blade. No scabbard.

Fold down clip to the reverse of the guard. Plain slightly curves pipe back blade measuring 81cms. Some surface staining and pitting to the blade and evidence of polishing. No scabbard.

1882 Pattern British Cavalry Troopers Sword of regulation pattern, slightly curved single edge blade, cut with a single fuller and struck with extensive government inspectors’ marks, regulation iron guard pierced with Maltese cross and struck with 6/97 21 L 149. Original leather grips remain but show wear. Housed in steel scabbard which is stamped 21 L 467. Scabbard has numerous dents, blade is generally good condition with just some surface wear towards the tip.
19th Century French Infantry Briquet Short Sword, one piece brass ribbed handle and knuckle bow, curved plain single edged blade stamped “HENRAUX-JNE”. Housed in the original leather scabbard with brass mounts. Acceptance stamps to the blade and knuckle bow, guard also stamped V37. Some stress faults and wear to the leather scabbard but generally still in good condition.
George V Royal Engineers Officers Presentation Dress Sword, standard 1897 pattern infantry officers dress sword with crowned George V cipher to the guard, original grip retaining wire binding. Blade remains in near mint condition with nearly all of the original polish remaining, etched with Royal Arms, Royal Engineers and foliage. Panel to the blade etched with “PRESENTED TO LIEUT A. WALKER RE BY HIS BROTHER OFFICERS WAR OFFICE 21 SEPT 1910”. Sword is housed in its original steel dress scabbard. Overall a very nice example.
French Gladius Pattern Side Arm / Short Sword, one piece brass ribbed grip, pommel and cross guard, 179 stamped to the cross guard. Swollen blade measuring 48 ½cms in length. Blade stamped with “TARABOT FS 1832 PARIS” and with oval stamping containing letter C with star above. Complete with its original leather covered and brass mounted scabbard. Remains in generally good condition.
1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Officers Sword, gilt brass strap and knuckle bow with central shield style langet, gilded pommel and fluted back strap. Leather covered grip with copper wire binding. Curved single edged blade with large partial fuller. Remains of the gilt tooled etched decoration to the blade, early Ordnance / Engineers three cannon badge and order of the Thistle is etched along with trophy of arms and the makers details of Thomas Gills. Originally the sword would have been blue and gilt but none of the blueing remains and only outlines of the gilt remains to the etching. Blade measures 82 ½cms in length. No scabbard.

Good condition, buffed bright overall, some light pitting to hilt, grip restored, one hanging ring missing.

Sword housed in its original leather carry bag. Excellent example.
Scarce Post 1901 Household Cavalry Trooper’s Sword, slightly curved single edge blade cut with a deep single fuller and stamped with manufacturer’s small initials WSC and number A0096, regulation pattern hilt with crowned HC amidst pierced scrolls, buckskin liner and dress knot, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in its plated scabbard stamped WS, broad arrow, 99, 973 6864 beneath throat, buckskin sword slings, fabric belt. Blade 34.5”. Good condition, well refinished overall for parade ground use.
Elizabeth II British Royal Artillery Ambrose Pratt Memorial Prize Presentation Sword by Wilkinson, 1821 pattern officers dress sword with standard pattern guard, top pommel and back strap. Original grip retaining wire binding. Finely etched blade with coat of arms of Elizabeth II and Royal Artillery cannon badge, panel etched with “AMBROSE PRATT MEMORIAL PRIZE 2ND LT R P HARRISON RA”. Blade with Wilkinson Sword trade mark and spine numbered 96628. Housed in the original leather covered scabbard and complete with a leather storage bag. Some staining to the blade but otherwise very good condition. The Ambrose Pratt Memorial Prize was awarded to young officers who have shown the greatest improvement in all-round officer qualities on the course for newly commissioned Artillery officers at the School of Artillery, but excluding holders of the Tombs, Benson and Earl Roberts memorial prize.

Unusual Regulation Pattern Naval Rating’s Hanger c.1850, subsequently adapted as a sword for the son of a serving army officer c.1890, curved single edge blade cut with a narrow fuller and struck with a government inspector’s stamp of 2 above a smaller 8 (Indian army?), the back edge stamped MOLE, regulation brass hilt with lion’s head pommel and bone grip cut with horizontal ridges, in well-made leather scabbard with brass chape and leather frog, the guard with leather safety strap. Blade 18”. Good untouched condition. See Swords for Sea Service, HMSO 1970 Pl.6 for pattern.

Scarce WW2 Free Czech Forces Officers Sword, large dish type guard with etch decoration including the insignia of the Free Czech forces. Plain top pommel and back strap. Original grip retaining the original wire binding. Housed in its steel scabbard with fixing fitting attached to the reverse, stamped “P 10:20” to the top of the scabbard. Plain slightly curved blade measuring 78cms in length. Evidence of sharpening to the edge of the blade. Unusual.

French Silver Mounted Hunting Hanger, late 18th century, single edge blade etched with animals and Deveaux, fourbisseur a l’ecole Royale –aire –ace –Trois –ies -Dieu, -ien a Paris (etching worn and partially indistinct), one piece ebony grip with silver crosspiece and oval silver panels (backstrap incomplete), in its tinned metal scabbard with silver mounts struck with tiny hallmarks, silver hanging rings. Blade 37cms, overall 52cms in scabbard. Quite good condition, worn overall.

Scarce Imperial German Ersatz Bayonet Style Trench Fighting Knife, steel straight grip with slot for fixing to the Mauser rifle, partially double edged blade with remains of the trade mark for Robert Klaas. Housed in the original steel scabbard with attachment bolts but no leather belt loop strap. Handle and scabbard painted in a field grey / green paint finish, this has possibly been refurbished at some time. Blade measures 13 ¼cms in length

Double edged blade with two central fullers leading into a point. Blade measures 14 ¾cms in length. Remains of the original black paint to the grip. No scabbard.
WW1 Welsh Machine Gunners Fighting Knife, rope bound grip with steel top pommel and Z shaped movable steel guard. Double edged leaf shape blade with central ridge, blade stamped “DROS URDDAS CYMRU” to one side. Housed in a webbing style scabbard. We are of the opinion that this is an old museum quality reproduction, being sold as viewed and not subject to return.

Much of the original blueing remains to the blade. Housed in original brown leather scabbard with brass bottom chape. Leather tabs and back section remain to the scabbard but the elasticated fastening strap is absent.
