The size and weight of the hilt and width of the blade across the spine appear to be larger than usual and has multiple edge nicks.

A 19TH CENTURY INDIAN JAMBIYA, 16.5cm sharply curved blade with raised medial ridge, characteristic brass hilt profusely decorated with panels of scrolling foliage and flowerheads and with traces of silvered decoration, contained in its brass mounted green velvet wrapped wooden scabbard, the mounts decorated to match and with traces of silvered decoration, highlighted with four small turquoise stones.

Hilt and mounts pitted, leather replaced.
AN 1899 PATTERN CAVALRY TROOPER'S SWORD TO THE 2ND DRAGOON GUARDS, 85cm fullered blade dated 1901 and with various Ordnance stamps, regulation steel hilt stamped 12/14, chequered leather grips, contained in its steel scabbard stamped 2DG. The Second Dragoon Guards ( Queen's Bays) suffered heavy losses at the Battle of Leeukop in March 1902 during the Boer War.
