No 59” with small trophies of crossed cannon on one side in foliate floral panels, and various devices in similar panels on the other, foliate backstrap, plain regulation steel hilt with crossguard, langets, pronounced knucklebow, plain rounded pommel and backstrap with ears to leather covered grip, in its steel scabbard with single fixed ring. GC (minor wear, cleaned surface pitting to hilt and scabbard).

GC, the blade retaining much original polish (scabbard some wear). Plate 7

An ERII officer’s ceremonial sword of the Scots Guards, straight, shallow fullered blade 32½” by “Pooley Sword London” etched with crowned regimental badge, wreath and 28 battle honours “Namur 1695” to “France & Flanders 1914-18” on one side and ERII cypher wreath and 11 battle honours “Gazala” to “Falkland Islands 1982” on the other, all interspersed with regimental devices, pierced plated guard incorporating regimental badge, plain pommel, chequered backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip. New Condition (no scabbard).

Basically GC (blade reseated, hilt worn, scabbard pitted).
