A French 'St Etienne' bayonet and scabbard, the blade back inscribed and dated 1869, 70cm CONDITION REPORT: The number on the scabbard is hard to read, there is faint trace of a number on the hilt but not readable. The button on the hilt does not depress. The scabbard is rusted throughout, the blade with some scratches and blemishes. Hilt with general wear and patination.
An early 20th century tan leather ammunition case, with three World War I tan leather pistol holsters, a black leather pistol holster - possibly civilian issue, a small tan leather pouch, a World War I knife with leather scabbard and a lacquered brass and tan leather four drawer telescope (7) CONDITION REPORT: The telescope is by 'JH Steward Ltd London'. Objects can be viewed through the telescope but the lens do appear grubby and perhaps with some blooming. The lacquered sections are generally ok. The leather has genera age wear scuffs and marks.
Rare Victorian 1857 Engineer’s Pattern Sword for an Officer of Submarine Miners, regulation polished blade etched with crowned VR, royal arms, thunderflash, SUBMARINE MINERS within banners, scrolls and owner’s initials PAM, numbered 98777, regulation gilt brass hilt pierced with engraved foliage, chequered gripstrap, wire bound black fish skin covered grip, in its nickel plated dress scabbard with hanging rings. Blade 83cms, overall 97.5cms. Good condition, blade retains nearly all original polish, gilding worn, a little wear to nickel. Percy Alexander MacMahon, p.a.c. Inst. R.M. George V Scottish Military Basket Hilt Broadsword by Wilkinson, No.53678, regulation double edge blade cut with a single fuller and etched with royal cypher and thistles, chrome plated basket and pommel, wire bound fish skin covered grip, red felt covered buckskin liner, in its leather covered scabbard with frog and iron chape. Blade 83cms, overall 99cms. Good untouched condition, basket and pommel probably re-plated (traces of nickel plate remain on chape) requires cleaning overall.
Cut Steel Hilt Court Sword c.1900, hollow ground triangular section etched and polished blade, regulation steel studded hilt, in its leather scabbard with steel mounts en-suite; and an old fencing foil. The first with 80cms blade, overall 96.5cms. Good condition, hilt and mounts acid cleaned, tip of scabbard creased, some age wear.
George V 1897 Pattern Royal Marines Light Infantry Officer’s Sword by Wilkinson, No. 56530, regulation blade etched with crowned royal arms and cypher, crowned regimental title and badge all amidst foliage, with owner’s initials G.H.S., regulation hilt, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in leather field service scabbard with oilskin bag. Sold with research material related to the sword’s owner Major G.H.Seath, D.S.O, sword issued 24th Jan. 1919. Blade 82.5cms, overall 98cms. Good condition, metal parts now chromium plated, scabbard replaced.
Enfield Sword Bayonet, thick recurved single edge blade with various stampings including issue marks 2/85, regulation iron hilt with chequered leather grips, pommel stamped 237 with 268 erased, in its iron mounted leather scabbard. Blade 58cms, overall 71cms. Good condition, chape detatched complete with leather section.
British 1888 Lee Metford Bayonet, good example with two piece wood slab grips secured by two brass securing rivets. Steel cross guard and muzzle ring. Housed in its leather and steel mounted scabbard with 08 pattern webbing bayonet frog attached. Blade stamped to the forte with acceptance stamps, etc. Blade 30 ¼ cms, overall 42 ½ cms.
WW2 British 1st Pattern Fairbairn Sykes (F.S) Commando Knife by Wilkinson Sword, excellent example of the nickel silver 1st pattern commando knife with “S” shaped guard and cross hatched grip with brass nut fitting to the top. Double edged stiletto type blade with Wilkinson Sword Co Ltd London etched to the base of the blade to one side and The FS Fighting Knife to the base of the other side. Housed in its original brown leather scabbard with nickel silver lower chape. The blade has the initials of the original owner “G.A.P”. Some light spotting to the blade. Overall a excellent example. Blade measures 17 ½ cms, overall 33cms.

Rare and Unusual Chinese Short Sword, Late 18th Century, curved single edge blade cut with a single narrow fuller, brass hilt well-formed as a lion’s head pommel with open mouth, engraved overall with foliage against a punched ground, polished dark horn grip, in its leather scabbard with silver locket. Blade 49cms, overall 60cms. Good condition.
German-Made Dress Sword Probably for Siam c.1900, curved single edge blade cut with 2 fullers with traces of etching, nickel hilt with an elephant in relief on the guard surrounded by foliage, curtains beneath helmet, wire bound fish skin covered grip (worn), folding side-guard, in its nickel plated scabbard. Blade 74cms, overall 88cms. Good condition, blade re-plated and worn.
Fine Turkish Sword Kilij, broad finely pattern welded blade with pronounced yelman gold inlaid with 2 cartouches of script (not translated) one date AH1232 (=1816AD), back edge fluted and with 2 panels of gold damascened decoration, later plain silver mounts, 2 piece horn grips, in its silver mounted scabbard covered with black leather and fitted with 2 hanging rings. Good condition. Blade 74cms.
^ Fine Turkish Sword Yataghan Dated 1826, recurved blade signed and gold inlaid with a distich (not translated) within panels and with extensive gold damascened foliage overall, iron grip strap covered with gold damascened foliage, 2 piece walrus tusk pommel with lateral ears, in its leather-covered scabbard decorated in relief and including the date AH1242 (=1826AD). Good condition, some wear to damascene around gripstrap. Blade 59cms.
^ Good Turkish Silver Mounted Sword Yataghan, recurved single edge blade silver inlaid with several inscriptions (not translated) including the date 1125AH (=1713AD), reverse inlaid with conventional foliate design, silver hilt with ear-shaped pommel, inlaid with teardrop-shaped corals, silver filigree work and granulation, in its silver scabbard embossed and chased with rococo ornament including panoplies and city scenes, pierced top section. Good condition, some age wear, scabbard with old repair. Blade 53cms.
Unusual Turkish Brass Hilt Sword Yataghan, recurved single edge blade with good quality silver inlaid full length inscriptions on both sides including toughra and date AH1207 (=1792AD), brass hilt of conventional form inlaid with red beads, in its brass scabbard embossed with flowering foliage overall, top inlaid with red beads. Blade 55.5cms, overall 69.5cms. Good condition.

^ Large Ottoman Silver Mounted Sword Shamshir, mid-19th century, broad curved single edge Persian watered steel blade cut with assorted fullers and with gold inlaid cartouche ‘Servant of the King of Trusteeship (i.e. Ali), (Shah) Abbas’ together with pairs of split palmettes separating the interrupted fullers, extensive silver mounts all struck with tughras and extensive control marks (possibly Egyptian), 2 piece ivory grips, engraved crosspiece, scabbard mounts chased with foliage. ^ Scarce Ottoman Sword Kilij, Probably Early 18th Century, curved hollow ground sham watered single edge blade possibly from Lvov, with pronounced yelman, with thickly gold inlaid inscribed roundel and inscribed panel (not translated), small gold inlaid foliate motif beside the yelman, later silver-coloured metal crosspiece, gripstrap and scabbard mounts, 2 piece rhino horn grips, in its red velvet covered scabbard with foliate embossed mounts. Good condition. Blade 76cms.
Fine Georgian Niello Silver Mounted Sword Shamshir, late-19th century, earlier Persian curved single edge blade of good quality Qum (gravel meander) watering with an etched cartouche ‘Slave of the King of Trusteeship (i.e. ‘Ali), (Shah) ‘Abbas, 12…’ (the last 2 digits of the date are unclear) together with an earlier cartouche with traces of gold inlay ‘Haydar, the King of Religion, draws the world-seizing sword’. Silver hilt with stylised animal head pommel decorated overall with niello, in its scabbard decorated en-suite, the reverse with nielloed inscription ‘It’s owner Qul (?) Murad Khan bin Nurvard (Nurverdi?) Khan’. Good condition. Blade 82cms.
An antique French Gras M1874 T-section bayonet with engraved blade, dated 1878. Hooked quillion stamped and marked L93074. Blade engraved "Mre D'Aimes de St Etienne 8bze 1878". Wood grip with brass pommel, no scabbard. Release button intact and working. Steel blade with minimal corrosion and pitting, good point & edge.
^ Good Indian Sword Shamshir Late-18th Century, heavy broad curved single edge blade of Kirk Narduban watering and forged with the celebrated step pattern, iron mounts en-suite with floral gold damascened borders, elaborately decorated crosspiece, 2 piece walrus tusk grips carved with finger cusps, in its black leather over string-work covered scabbard with iron mounts all gold damascened. Good condition, top 17cms of scabbard leather restored. Blade 89.5cms.
