Rare maker marked WW2 Nazi German Army officer’s dagger, scabbard & knot by Paul Seilheimer. Aluminium pommel cap and cross guard excellent, dark orange coloured grip in good condition. Solingen maker named and stamped to 26cm long blade, in very good condition. Dagger knot shows expected wear and tear, but is complete. Scabbard is dent free and in good condition with minor surface corrosion. All-round a good condition and solid dagger by a not often seen army dagger manufacturer

WW2 German Hitler Youth Leader’s ‘Wacth’ KS98 parade bayonet, scabbard and knot. Features good condition stag grip bayonet, nickel plated birds head pommel with light ‘hammering’ dents, working bayonet locking button and guard, with inset Hitler Youth enamel diamond. Blade 20cm long chromed marked VERCHROMT, showing light wear, but generally very good unsharpened condition. Completed by an excellent black enamel metal scabbard, leather frog and bullion and leather ‘faustriemen’ bayonet knot.

Nazi German R.L.B. 2nd model enlisted man’s dagger and scabbard by WKC Waffenfabrik Solingen. Pommel has the engraved accent line with ebony grip with minor surface markings. Central RLB button with silvering on the sunburst worn down to the copper near ends, with similar wear to swastika. Straight quillon arms with triangular ends. 21.5cm blade is in very good condition, being bright steel with reverse ricasso having a very fine makers mark with Knights head Logo. The scabbard has nickel mounts with straight body with some loss to the factory black paint finish. Headless screws in the edges all present.

Grips in staghorn solid with tight pins, Nazi eagle and swastika wreath police emblem very fine. Maker marked 27cm nickel plated steel blade in clean unsharpened condition. Scabbard with supple black leather body and nickel chape, scabbard throat marked S.Ar.I1455 .and hilt marked S.Ar.I1244 marked (Arnsberg Police), dark brown leather frog.

Features excellent pommel cap and cross guard, dark orange coloured grip is in good condition. 26cm long maker stamped blade in very good condition. Scabbard is dent free with only minor spot corrosion. Beautiful belt hanger in silver thread and green velvet. Dagger knot shows expected wear and tear but is complete. All-round a complete dagger set in excellent condition.

Featured are 2 vendor attributed (not guaranteed) Japanese knives made whilst prisoner of war WW2 with light wood handles and scabbard with tin bindings. Blades are cutdown knife blade and reshaped steel, fit scabbards well, 23cms and 16cm in scabbard. French stamped blade that’s been fitted to Colonial native fittings, wooden tooled scabbard has section missing near throat, total length 29.5cm. Billhook blade knife features wooden ribbed grip with light brass fitting sand steel tang nut. Forged steel billhook blade carries sharp inner edge. Total length 48cm.

1920’s era U.S. Marine Corps named officer’s ‘mameluke’ sword and scabbard. German made Conqueror N S MEYER NC sword, number 202. Features composite orange faux ivory grip with brass star rivets and acorn tipped guard. Double etched 76cm long, slightly curved unsharpened stainless blade, showing USMC anchor and eagle World Shield with large “United States Marines” etched both sides, officers name “Howard P Done” to blade panel. Sword finished off nicely with correct black leather sword knot, fits well into the twin ringed nickel scabbard. An impressive display piece. Overall measures 92.4cm.

19th C. Martindale greenhorn machete made for South American market. Features Green Horn and brass/steel rivet bird beak handle with ‘S’ guard ending in acorns, cross guard. Full length 65cm tang to point single fullered blade with Makers stamp and crocodile logo to ricasso facing. Blade is bright but carries some nicks to edge and scattered minor areas of shallow pitting. Scabbard of brown leather has some stitching lose and leather wear to back near throat and near drag.

North African Sudan fighting dagger knife and modern tanto knife. Sudanese Double edged, hand forged stamped blade, hardwood handle and hand tooled leather with reptile possible crocodile straps 26cm in scabbard. 2nd blade is a modern tanto, blue cotton wrap over wooden grips. Brass loose ring hanger is quite nice and possibly off another better piece, plated unsharpened blade and wooden black painted sheath. Overall measures 45.5cm.

Curved double fullered unsharpened blade 92cm long. Blade stamped R & C (Rohrig & Cie), steel scabbard very solid and carries 1 dent to the front, unstamped, double loose ring hanger, blade fits nicely. Quality German export sabre possible Civil war import. Overall measures 109cm.

1796 pattern British Army engraved light cavalry officer’s sword and scabbard. Wide bow guard with leather wrapped wooden grips, with bottom ferrule showing some movement. Blade being gilt engraved with military regalia including mounted officer, Knight “Dieu et mon droit” & “Honi soit qui mal y pense” motto. Crest and crowned King George cypher, with majority of gold present in the engravings. Blade shows normal service edge nicks, the blade measuring 84cm. Scabbard missing one hanger ring, throat section repaired, 2 seam holes but main body fair with period dents and surface corrosion. Scarce sabre in fair condition. Overall measures 99cm.

1888 pattern British bayonet and scabbard dated 1901 by Enfield. Features plain wood grips, steel mounted with working locking button. 30.5cm spear point blade, production stamped for November 1901, age patina and minor pitting. Scabbard leather torn near bottom mount. Measures 44cm long.

WW2 USN MK-1 machete legitimus Collins & Co 1942. Black/brown 2-piece composite grip hilt with 4 steel pins, light wear. Full tang steel blade 77cm long from tang end to point, factory darkened facing, worn manufacturer stamped. Field sharpened with numerous nicks to blade edge. Scabbard stencilled “U.S.N.’ MK.1, all rivets present. Olive drab throat has paint loss, minor wear fraying to edge, 2 holes where blade point has worn through canvas near scabbard end. Sheath material has some staining, but all complete.

WWI era 1908 Pattern British Army trooper’s cavalry sword and scabbard attributed to the Royal Military College of Canada. Full bowl guard and heavy ball pommel, thatched brown composite grip with thumb recess, guard stamped R.M.C 9 and broad arrow C, Canadian issue stamp. 94cm long single edged blade with ricasso maker stamped SB&N, with February 1918 dating and broad arrow acceptance marking. Blade is solid, but metal shows pitting to length, being most prevalent in the 3/4 before point. The Wilkinson WSC FGH stamped 1916 dated scabbard has no dents, but has surface wear, with throat screws missing. Overall measures114 cm.

Lion head pommel with solid gilt brass folding guard etched officer name ‘JOHN ERIC COLLIER’. crown & fouled anchor, shagreen grip with wire grip excellent, with somewhat worn knot. Single edge straight blade stamped Gieves Ltd, London, Portsmouth & Devonport with Made in England stamp to back spine. Scarce picket width blade, good plating with acid etched decoration with Kings cypher crown. Black leather scabbard, gilt brass mounts, throat a little loose & slight shrinkage to leather. Overall measures 95cm. Scarce.

Features horn wide grip solidly fixed with 3 steel 3 pins. 63cm full length shallow fullered blade with wide 5cm with 8mm back edge that tappers to a point, sharpening to edge, 2 minor points with slight age pitting. Leather lined wooden scabbard, with wear to drag and throat ends has back stitching missing to top 15cms. Measures 63cm.

German SA 1933 1st pattern dagger & scabbard by Gebr. Grafrath. Features dark brown wood grip with eagle and roundel. Cross guards are correct nickel type with Wm Westmark Gau stamp. Good condition blade is maker & trade marked GEBR.GRAFRATH, which measures 21.8 cm and is etched with the motto “Alles für Deutschland” (All for Germany), being good in detail. Straight scabbard, worn brown anodised finish, clean nickel furniture with small dent to drag underside, retains the leather vertical hanger to suspension ring.

1796 pattern British Army light cavalry officer’s sword by Osbourne. Metal stirrup hilt, with plain backstrap and wooden grip, with majority of leather wrap present. Plain langets & quillon. Plain 83 cm curved slashing blade, the blade in good condition, with very minor age spotting. Maker name legible to back edge. Missing scabbard buffer, with some movement. Overall measures 93cm.

German SA 1933 1st pattern dagger & scabbard By Christianswerk. Features brown wood grip with eagle and SA roundel. Cross guards are correct nickel type with ‘Nrh’ Niederrhein Gau regional stamp. Good condition blade is maker & trade marked CHRISTIANSWERK SOLINGEN, which measures 21.8 cm and is etched with the motto “Alles für Deutschland” (All for Germany), being good in detail. Good condition scabbard, anodised brown finish very worn, metal mounts complete, retaining brown leather hanger on suspension ring. Scarce Manufacturer.

C. 1850 very fine condition German ‘etched’ hunting sword ‘Hirshfanger’ with scabbard by Georg Heinrich of Stuttgart. Black stained horn grip, with plain steel hilt cap and cross guard. Thick broad faced blade in good condition, ricasso carries Kirschbaum King’s head stamp, surface show very minor age patina, blade edged period sharpened with field sharpening marks. Etchings superb to both sides and back edge, scribed G H Kohl Waffenfabricant (Waffenfabrikant = arms manufacturer) in Stuttgart, blade length 49.5cm. Leather and wood scabbard, with good stitching, light surface wear, no shrinkage, but with a couple of period scrapes, with one small exposed section. Solid black finished metal mounts finish off this very nicely presented piece. Overall measures 69.5cm.

1920’s era British Royal Navy midshipman’s sword/dirk and scabbard by Wilkinson & Gieves of London. Lion head hilt with lose ring knot carrying minor fraying, excellent cream fish skin wire twist grip, acorn tipped cross guard with wreathed fouled anchor crest. The locking pin mechanism opens and locks in well. 45cm blade double maker stamped by Henry Wilkinson London and Gieves Ltd London Portsmouth & Devonport to Ricasso, good engravings to 2/3 of blade length, off floral and geometric pattern with GVR royal crest and naval fouled anchor. Unsharpened blade bright with some age darkening and minor pitting to back edge and towards tip. The scabbard is complete with officers ‘RO’ initials to the top double loose ring mount, leather and stitching excellent with blade fitting well. Overall a good example & measures 61cm.

C. 1660 Japanese shinto tanto by Sukesada with scabbard. Tanto Sukasada bound brown grip with round fudu Menuki pierced onate tsuba. 32 cm long, straight blade shows a very good hamon pattern to edge, with harimoni Buddhist carvings. Blade has been Japanese polished, being in superb/fine condition. Wooden scabbard shows fine lacquered features, showing unique ‘shell’ finish, with insert Kasashi, retaining cotton-bound belt. A very good maker of swords, Sukesada 2 is shown to tang – Bishu Osafune Ju/Yokoyama Kozuke (No Daijo Fujiwarra Suke Sada). Comes with full folio of photos and research. Overall measures 54cm.

WW2 German Navy officer’s 2nd pattern dagger & scabbard by WKC of Solingen. Gilded brass fittings, twisted wire semi faded yellow grip and eagle pommel with remnants of silver threaded dagger knot. Fouled anchor guard, retaining working locking button. Maker marked 24.8 cm long blade, being finely double etched, with foliate, anchor and marine life design, showing toning to ricasso, but overall clean finished quality spear pointed steel blade. Gilded brass scabbard retains both suspension rings, with lightning bolt design, very good condition overall.

1960’s era Bowie knife and scabbard by Carl Schlieper of Solingen. Rectangular stag handle grips, 17cm ‘bowie’ blade, maker stamped with ‘Original Bowie Knife’. Blade shows customs grind marks to flatten central grooves and false edge. Retains western styles leather scabbard.

WW2 German Luftwaffe officer’s 2nd pattern dagger and scabbard. Features yellow celluloid grip, with full wire wrap, rotating gilt finished large swastika and oakleaf pommel, with aluminium eagle cross guard. Very good condition un-marked 27cm long blade, retaining leather washer, showing only light wear. Blade fits perfectly into the toned nickel pebbled scabbard with twin suspension rings.

Nazi German R.L.B. officer’s 2nd model dagger and scabbard by Erich Witte. Features nickel furniture throughout, the pommel with an engraved accent line, with hilt covered in fine dark blue leather, minor scuffing to back. In the hilt centre is a fine RLB button. The silvering on the sunburst is worn down to the copper portion, with very good enamelling to the swastika. The cross-guard eagle is the ‘stubby’ winged type, clutching a smooth wreath with swastika. The straight quillon arms have triangular ends. 24.5cm blade of this dagger is very nice, being bright steel with a very fine tip, reverse ricasso has a very light makers mark to Ernst ERICH WITTE of SOLINGEN with Diamond Logo, present but barely visible. The scabbard has nickel mounts with straight body in original Moroccan leather that matches the grip, the covering near perfect shape. Headless screws in the edges are all present.

Scabbard is dent free and in good condition. Blades fits scabbard nicely.

C.1920 German hunting ‘etched’ sword and scabbard ‘Hirshfanger’ knife by Baron of Solingen. Features bone grips with triple acorn pins to each side. Gilt D shaped bar guard and hilt has plate loss to top of handle, deer hoof quillion and shell guard very good. Unsharpened 32.5cm spear point blade has makers stamp to ricasso. Beautiful hunting scene etchings to both blade facings with floral pattern down back edge. Leather scabbard in good condition, stitching excellent, metal mounts with light wear to gilt finish. Overall measures 48.5cm.

19th early 20th C. Arab jambiya Omani dagger knife. Good quality Jambiya from the early 20th C late 19th century. This style of dagger with the “L” shaped scabbard is called Omani, as it originates from Oman. It has a 19 cm curved and dual edge blade with a pronounced central rib, forged from good steel. The hilt is Rhino horn and wood with silver steel front panel and silver tooled decoration on the guard. The scabbard is wood covered with leather and set with chased silver locket and chape. The belt attachment is made of heavy silver rings and twisted silver wire. Very good condition. The blade has few small areas of shallow pitting and there are some minor dents so blade surface, edge still decent sharpness, period wear to the gold stars ton the blade and silver parts in general but lovely piece for age.

1950’s era Balinese Kris/Keriss knife with superb Pamor pattern dagger. Features an excellent blade with lovely Damascus pattern Pamor blade, upper blade very well detailed. 42 cm blade has 12 Luk or waves to length and an excellent keen blade edge. The throat ring has 3 blue and 3 red gem stones, wooden furniture is traditionally made with cultural figure carved hilt and scabbard that fits blade extremely well, scabbard has small section missing near throat and visible glue joint repair. Beautiful quality display piece, fit for any collection. Measures 64.5 cm.

WW2 type 98 Japanese WW2 officer’s sword and scabbard in Army field fittings, signed Asano Kanesane blade with kokuin. Type 98 hilt in very good condition with leather locking strap fuchi cover. Blade signed NOSHU ASANO KANESANE SAKU KORE, with the Turtle Kokuin quality stamp, measuring 89cm tang to point, 96cm pommel to point. Blade carries a fair cutting edge with beautiful wave hamon, minor thumb nail nicks near point, with some minor age darkening spots to surface. Wooden and leather scabbard for field use, missing upper lock to scabbard, with unusual brass drag cover. Souvenired by vendors father who ‘nabbed’ this in Borneo during WW2. Overall measures 99cm.

Of Falklands war interest, a Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co Solange Argentinian issue M1909 artillery machete stamped "Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co Solange and Modelo Argentino 1909" with scabbard and leather frog, together with a pair of Carl Zeiss Jena 6 x 30 binoculars, also stamped "Ejercito Argentino Morteros 81 mm number 39", surrendered by an Argentinian officer at the surrender of West Falkland taken by Chief Petty Officer W D Wilson flag bearer HMS Avenger, who after 26 years service left the Royal Navy as a Lieutenant.
