The decoration on this blade is similar in style to that produced at Klingenthal - see Richard Dellar's articles on said subject.
AN 18TH CENTURY ENGLISH OFFICER'S BROADSWORD,78.5cm fullered blade incised twice in each fuller with the maker's name HERMANN KEISSER, further incised with the orb and cross mark, steel half-basket hilt composed of flattened rounded bars united by scrolling bars in the form of 666 or 999 in the talismanic fashion, the stool composed of a half shell guard chiselled with the talismanic face of a green man, tapering ovoid pommel, copper wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its steel mounted leather scabbard. A 1788 PATTERN LIGHT CAVALRY TROOPER'S SWORD BY WOOLLEY, 80.5cm curved fullered blade dated 1794 and with the maker's details on the back edge, further etched 5 over LD (Fifth Light Dragoons) to one side, sharpened for use, regulation steel stirrup hilt, ribbed fishskin grip, contained in its steel scabbard.
A VERY RARE "WHITE RAJ" PRESENTATION SWORD, 82.5cm unfullered blade by Wilkinson, serial no. 12508 for 1862, etched with scrolls, the badge and motto of Sarawak and presentation inscription Joseph Middleton From The Raja For Long and Faithful Service, brass gothic hilt based on the 1827 Naval pattern incorporating the Sarawak badge and motto, wire bound fishskin grip, in its engraved brass mounted leather scabbard. James Middleton accompanied James Brooke on his voyage when he was granted Sarawak by the Sultan of Borneo as a reward for fighting piracy in 1841 and became known as the White Rajah. He was appointed Chief of Police and lived on Sarawak until his death in 1866.

Johnston late BLAND & FOSTER Sword Cutler & Belt Maker to his MAJESTY 68 St James's St London". Richard Johnston succeeded Robert Foster (formerly Bland & Foster) in 1798 at 68 St. James's Street.
