dating: first quarter of the 18th Century provenance: Europe, Wide, straight, double-edged blade of hexagonal section, with fuller at the forte, bearing the motto 'NO ME SAQUES SIN RASON / NO ME EMBAINES SIN HONOR' bordered by frames with racemes. Remains of some initials near the tang, on one side, and the inscription 'cavile' on the other. With mark 'No. 46 Dn. Benito Varias Yndan' in italics on the left side. Large, iron hilt. Quillon with parry quillon ending in a faceted and buttoned fig. Loop-guards shaped and decorated with a knot on the outside, and flat inside. Large loop-guard provided with iron valve pierced and decorated with stars, fixed with copper. Two rings: one for the index finger and one for the thumb, fixed at the back. Faceted and buttoned mushroom-shaped pommel. The button probably in a separate element. Remains of old finishing on the pommel and on part of the loop-guard. One of the loop-guards was probably repaired. Grip with iron ring nuts at the ends and covered in thick, iron wire binding. Scabbard (wood and leather probably later) with iron mounts; cap with belt hook and lug. length 93,5 cm.

Brass hilt with stirrup guard, with an additional quillon. Long, smooth cap. Grip with old leather covering and brass wire binding. Without scabbard. length 74 cm.

dating: 1879 provenance: USA, Rifled, round, 44-40 cal. (or 43 Spanish) barrel, (clean, with barely visible rifling), with Winchester address, King's Improvement and patents, with adjustable rear sight and foresight, small areas of rust. Smooth frame with pitting and rust, tang with pattern, serial number '337xx'. The rear loading gate with small oval checkering. Wooden butt and fore-end, iron ramrod on the left side, only one barrel bracket. Complete with its socket bayonet with leather scabbard (missing chape). Extremely rare. This very rare item was assembled on 19th April 1879 as a possible military weapon for the Spanish government. Only a very few items are known (one in the Rock Island Arsenal Museum), only four more of Musket type are known. Two have been lately sold with serial numbers 33777 and 33903, both very similar to ours.Literature: 'Winchester's New Model of 1873: A tribute, Volume II' by James Gordon, page 511. Gordon writes that only 84 items of this model were manufactured and that only five of them are known. length 124 cm.

Brass hilt. Domed langets, 'a la chasseur' guard with three loop-guards and long cap. The main loop-guard numbered and with remains of a mark surmounted by a star. In the centre of the loop-guard a lion's head, the rest decorated with floral motifs. Mother of pearl grip scales. dating: 1815 - 1820 circa provenance: Piedmont, Blade of triangular section with hollow sides, engraved and gilded on blue background with trophies and floral motifs at the first part. Beautiful, gilded-bronze hilt (small abrasions), shell-guard with Medusa's heads in relief between two winged lions and a snake in high relief under floral decorations. Quillon and loop-guard decorated with floral motifs in bas-relief, pommel shaped as a helmet. Checkered horn grip grooved with staves on the corners, central trophy featuring the Savoy's cross at the front. Wooden scabbard covered with leather (small damaged and missing parts) and with gilded bronze mounts engraved with rocaille. Two suspension rings. It probably belonged to a Piedmontese artillery general, as shown by the Savoy's cross on the grip and the Medusa's head on the shell-guard. length 85 cm.

dating: 1802 - 1805 provenance: Italian Republic , Long and solid, curved, single-and short false-edged blade, with fuller for almost its entire length and grooved near the back; with a trophy and a floral motif framing the motto 'VIVA LA REPUBBLICA ITALIANA' at the forte, on the right side, with fasces surmounted by the revolutionary Phrygian cap set among laurels, around floral decorations on the left side. Width at the base: 3.9 cm, blade length: 88 cm. Pitting at the forte. Steel hilt with stirrup guard webbed upwards. Parry quillon curved and lobed at the head. Long, smooth cap with small cusp. Grip with antique leather covering and brass wire binding. Without scabbard. A fascinating officer's sabre with a motto celebrating the 'Italian Republic,' a short-lived revolutionary kingdom (1802-1805) under President Napoleon Bonaparte. When he was proclaimed Emperor and King of Italy, the republic evolved into the Kingdom of Italy. length 101 cm.

dating: circa 1900 provenance: Africa, Wide, double-edged straight blade with triple groove, typical cross-shaped wooden grip, mounts of various metals. Complete with leather scabbard with metal mounts and arm ring. See 'A Glossary of the Construction, Decoration and Use of Arms and Armor' by Cameron Stone, page 608 figure 781. Stone speculates that the cross shape of the grip is a remain of the ancestors of Christian faith. length 64 cm.

dating: late 18th Century provenance: France, Curved, single-and short false-edged blade, with fuller for almost its entire length, with remains of a mark at the base. Clearly visible pitting. Brass hilt with large quillon with rain guard featuring remains of a non-legible mark and stamp 'H93'. Guard with two loop-guards, the third one is missing, the main one stamped 'HN.86'. Grip of square section with old leather covering and brass wire binding. Slightly damaged and with missing parts, signs of use and time. Short square cap. Leather scabbard (damaged and missing parts) with two brass lugs. length 108 cm.

dating: first quarter of the 19th Century provenance: France, Curved, single-and short false-edged blade, with wide fuller and thin groove near the back, marked 'A.K.' at the back. Pitting mainly at the tip. Brass hilt. Langets cusped and lowered at the edges, 'a la chasseur' guard with three loop-guards, long, smooth cap. Wooden grip with leather cover (some missing parts) and metal wire binding. Iron scabbard (pitting) with two lugs with brass bands, (without mouthpiece), large, iron drag. length 98 cm.

Cusped, outlined langets, one with shield-shaped mark within circle, 'a la chasseur' guard with three loop-guards, long, smooth cap. Wooden grip with remains of leather (fish?) covering and with metal wire binding. Iron scabbard (clean pitting) with two lugs with brass bands, mouthpiece (missing part at the edge) and iron drag. length 97 cm.

Iron crossbar with spike, curved quillon and ring, numbered and with mark. Brass grip. Iron working button. Leather scabbard with brass mounts, complete with leather belt frog. length 64.5 cm.
