An infantry officers pattern 1897 sword GVR cypher. Numbered 2605 and marked `Batson London`. Overall good condition, no scabbard. Together with a continental Germany sabre. 4 bar brass hilt. Blade markings indistinct but appears to have been manufactured in Liege. Unfortunately the grip has been repaired.
A large knife, possibly Sudanese / Ethiopian. 39cm blade with 3 small fullers, script on both sides of an Amharic type. With an image of a fish on one side and a beetle on the other. The grip is bound with alligator on lizard skin. Some rust patches on the blade together with its very unusual scabbard, which is made up of a small alligator, with the hilt protruding from the mouth. Overall good condition for age.
NSKK-type dagger, the blade 22cm approx and etched "alles fur Deutschland". On the reverse there is a manufacturers mark within a circuit saying "Gebruder Heller-Schmalkalden" and an anchor in the centre. Cross guard stamped on the reverse Mi. Wood grip with eagle and roundel inset. The blade has slight wear and tarnish but otherwise is very good. The engraving is crisp and on the grip the eagle is nicely detailed and a good fit. Together with scabbard painted black with white metal fittings and hanger. Some minor scratches but no dents. One screw is missing from the chape and the hanger is blackened leather with a white metal spring clip, which is marked with a stylised `A` over DRGM. Overall it is a very nice example. There is no RZM code but Gebruder Heller are listed as RZM no. M7/50.
A socket bayonet for the Martini Henry rifle. WD marked and dated 12/87. Blade length 55cm approx. Very good condition, together with its scabbard and buff leather frog which is arrow marked and stamped. WTO 190. Very good condition for age. When fitted to the Martini rifle it makes a formidable weapon.
German imperial navy sword. Damascus steel blade 29.5cm approx, WK&C with kings head and knights helm on one side and GB & S under crossed swords on the other. Brass hilt decorated overall with lions head pommel (red/green eyes) and folding langet decorated with imperial crown and fouled anchor. Grip wire bound ivory on celluloid. Complete with brass bound leather scabbard and attachment straps. Some service wear and chip at the top of the grip but overall in good condition.
*Cased Court Dress of Sir Frederick Wills, 1st Baronet (1838-1909), circa 1890, comprising court sword, the 80cm triangular steel blade etched `Henry Poole & Co, Saville Row, London`, with cut steel guard, swollen grip, knuckle-bow and vase pommel, 98cm overall, in its leather scabbard with steel mounts, coatee, breeches, waistcoats, cocked hat, shoes, buckle case and sword belt, all contained in a japanned tin with brass name plate engraved to the recipient. Sir Frederick Wills, 1st Baronet (1838-1909) was a director of the Bristol based tobacco factory W.D. & H.O. Wills Tobacco, he was made a Baronet of Northmoor, Somerset in 1897. (1)
*A scarce Westminster Dragoons (2nd County of London Yeomanry) Trooper`s Sword, c. 1900, the 87cm steel blade by `Hamburger Rogers & Co., London`, with steel cup guard, wooden ribbed grip with diced back and stepped pommel, 102cm overall, in its steel scabbard with impressed mark for `2 Cly 130`, with two rings. The 2nd County of London Imperial Yeomanry was raised in 1901 in response to the call for volunteers to serve in the Boer War. Considered a fashionable regiment, recruitment was not a problem. By 1902 the regimental strength was twenty officers and 449 other ranks. (1)

Fitzroy, Rifle Brigade, (serial number 12817), the 81.5cm blade by `Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall, London`, etched `R.B.` with strung bugle and foliate scrolls, and initials `C.V.F.` beneath heraldic lion, pierced steel guard with Coldstream Guard crest, wire-bound fish-skin grip, stepped pommel, 94.5cm overall, in its steel scabbard. Captain Charles Vane Fitzroy (1836-1871), commissioned Captain in the Rifle Brigade 25.3.1856, entitled to the 5th Class Order of Medjidie. The record from the Wilkinsons Archive states that a Dress Rifle Sword with Solid Toledo, Letchen Point Blade was finished by Henry Wilkinson on 20th October 1863 and sold to Fitzroy Esq. (1)

W.`, reverse inscribed `Capt R.J. Jones, Lieut.R. Wilkin, 2nd Lieut.L. Wilkin, L. Company, Queen`s Westr Vols, June 1894`, 17cm x 11cm. Provenance: from the estate of Major Robert J.
