Plated eagle crossguard with swastika. Oakleaf decoration to pommel and ferrule. Housed in stippled plated scabbard with two suspension rings and foliate lockets. Complete with silver laced, velvet-backed slings with oakleaf ornamented oval buckles and stippled spring-clips, leather reinforced and strap hanger replaced. Toned externally, blade bright. A good rare example, the blade obverse etched “Meine Ehre heist Treue” (My Honour is Loyalty), the reverse bearing RZM logo over M7/80 over RZM1197/39/SS and dedication “In herzlicher Kameradschaft’ and facsimile signature . Black wooden grip (chipped) inlaid with silvered eagle and enamelled circular SS Sigrunen, reverse with ‘XII’ to the base. Housed in original lacquered anodised nickel mounted scabbard with single suspension ring. The top mount engraved with owner’s initials, the reverse with signals lightning flash and ‘R/46’. Chape top filed either side and minor dent to ball. Overall GC with service wear.

Scabbard absent, blade stained and with specks of rust, nickel fittings slightly rubbed ... together with a Dress bayonet by Eickhorn, the fine 19.5cm plated steel fullered blade stamped with maker’s ‘double-squirrel’ logo. Black-painted pommel and curved quillon, stag-horn scales to the grip. Housed in its black painted scabbard. (2 items)

2nd Royal North British Dragoons Scots Greys Victorian 1821 Heavy Cavalry Officer’s Fighting Sword A rare example with an etched straight single edged blade. The decoration incorporating a crowned entwined VR cypher. The reverse with regimental title “2nd Royal North British Dragoons Scots Greys”. Also with the regimental device and battle honours the last being “Sevastopol”. The forte with the retailer’s details of “Brown & Son Hanover Sq London”. The hilt is of the regulation Housed in steel scabbard. The overall condition is good, some staining to the blade and evidence of light pitting and age wear to hilt. Has been cleaned some tine ago GC. It is interesting to note that the single edge of the blade has been sharpened during its working life indicating a fighting example.

10th (Prince of Wales’s Own) Hussars Officer’s sword. A good scarce pre Crimea War 1821 Light Cavalry example of regimental pattern by Wilkinson of London. The blade is etched with a Crowned VR Cypher over a Roman numeral X within a title “Royal Hussars”. The reverse is etched with the regimental device and “Peninsula” and “Waterloo” honours; it also bears the family crest of the Earl of Kintore Lord Keith and Falconer. Three bar open guard, the grip with twist wire binding. Housed in original polished steel scabbard with two loose rings. Blade in clean condition, etching clear. Minor wear to guard and scabbard. GC. The sword is attributed to Major the Hon Charles James Keith-Falconer , Cornet with the regiment 15th February 1850. He fought in the Crimea and after his military career he held the office of Commissioner of Inland Revenue between 1874 and 1889.

14th (King’s) Hussars Victorian Officer’s Mameluke hilted sword. A rare Levee pattern sword. Curved unfullered blade with etched decoration depicting a regimental device surmounted by a crown. Above, this scrolling floral decoration, below the Regimental title. To the obverse a crowned entwined VR Cypher and further scrolling floral etching. Fine gilt cross guard bearing embossed decoration of regimental pattern. Two piece ivorine grip, with a pair of gilt pateri to each side. The sword is housed in its original polished steel scabbard fitted with two gilt loose rings. The sword has been completely professionally restored to exhibition / parade standard. Etching to the blade clear.

The forte with the cutler’s details and to the back of the blade is the number 18107, this number is complemented by an arrow and CP mark. The regulation hilt with three bar open guard and shagreen grip. Housed in with steel scabbard. The blade remains in near parade condition. Slight age wear to the scabbard and hilt.The blade number indicating made in 1871

British 1821 Light Cavalry Pattern Patent Hilt Sword by Wilkinson of London Circa 1853. A good and early example of the Wilkinson Patent Hilt sword, this example has no order number to the back edge of the blade, which would indicate pre 1854 manufacture. The straight 36 inch blade, with etched decoration of a Crowned VR Cypher and the original owners initials “RB” to an etched panel. The forte with the cutler’s details of “Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London”. The regulation hilt with three bar open guard and solid chequered grip with twist wire binding. Housed in with steel scabbard. The overall condition good etching clear.

Waterloo Period Household Cavalry Pattern Troopers Sword. An extremely rare and good example of the sword believed carried by Troopers of the Household Cavalry at the time of the Peninsular War and during the charge of the “Union Brigade” at the Battle of Waterloo. Heavy single edged blade with hatchet point (length 35 inches), with a crowned $ acceptance stamp. The hilt is of polished steel, with a pierced design. The grip is of ribbed leather, the backstrap with ears. Complete with original polished steel scabbard, fitted with two loose rings. This with now faint engraved cutler’s details and number “B 43” The blade and scabbard with light pitting. Overall GC.The Household Cavalry regiments were not required to correspond to cavalry patterns authorised for other regiments and therefore this Regimental pattern was introduced to the regiment with Hatchet point circa 1796 and carried to about 1820. A similar example can be seen on the National Army Museum Online Collection.

Household Cavalry Waterloo Period Officer’s 1814 Pattern Sword. A fine and rare example of the pattern carried by the Household Regiments, at the time of the Battle of Waterloo. The straight 34 inch blade is with double fullers and spear point. The elaborate gilt metal guard is mounted with a Royal Crest of a lion resting upon a crown, this in turn is mounted onto a backing plate surmounted by a further crown. The open guards emanates form a dish shaped cross guard and rises to a button pommel. The shagreen grip is bound with copper twist wire. Complete with gilt metal scabbard, with two inset panels of black shagreen. Gilt worn to base brass, minor service and age wear.  Overall GC.

Royal Horse Guards Circa 1830 Officer’s Sword by Prosser London. A rare regimental pattern, the 39 inch blade with cutler’s details of “Prosser manufacturer to the King London”. Also with a heavy stamp “P” inspection stamp and to the back of the blade impressed “Prosser”. The hilt with an ornate scrolling three bar open guard, enclosing a shagreen grip, with gilt twist wire binding. The interior of the guard with a large embossed crown and to the pommel embossed scrolling decoration and an English rose. Complete with original steel scabbard with gilt mounts to the loose rings and chape. The throat of the scabbard engraved with “Old English” style letters possibly “WT” Overall GC.Possibly carried by Captain Walter Robert Tyrrell Cornet 1830, Lieutenant 1833, Captain 1837. He is believed to go on to command the 1st Suffolk Rifle Volunteers retiring with the rank of Lt Col 1877.

Napoleonic War Period Officer’s Fighting Sword / Hanger, by Tatham of London. This fighting sword was possibly carried by a Naval Officer. The single edged curved 29 inch blade, with engraved decoration of a sun burst and crescent moon. The hilt with single steel bar guard and backstrap to the white bone grip. The latter with twist wire binding. Housed in original black leather and gilt mounted scabbard, this fitted with two loose rings. The top mount with engraved cutler’s details of “Tatham Swordsmith & Belt Maker to the King. 17 Charing Cross London”. The overall condition is good leather to scabbard supple. Please note furniture to sword steel, scabbard brass.Henry Tatham operated from 37 Charing Cross as sole trader from 1800 to 1802. In 1803 his trade name became “Tathem & Egg”

The engraved decoration includes a Crowned GR cypher, Royal Coat of Arms etc. The fire gilt hilt of regulation pattern, with single bar guard and fixed shell guard. The grip retains silver wire binding, which is surmounted by an urn pommel. Complete with original black leather and gilt mounted scabbard. Please note chape absent. GC.

Napoleonic War Period British Light Company Officer’s Shamshir style Sword by Tatham of London. A scarce and unusual example, carried by a Light Company Officer of a Prince of Wales Regiment. The 28 inch heavily curved blade by Runkel retains traces of blue & gilt decoration (10%) and is engraved with a Crowned Prince of Wales three feather crest and stand of Arms. The Shamshir style hilt with gilt cross guard mounted with a Light Company strung bugle, the two piece polished wood grip with pateri decoration. Complete with original black leather scabbard with gilt mounts, the top mount with the cutler’s details of “Tatham to His Majesty 37 Charing Cross next to the Admiralty” Overall GC, chape to scabbard appears to be a professional restored replacement.

The curved unfullered scimitar blade is with etched decoration incorporating the Regimental title “IX Lancers” and also with crossed lances each with pennons, this is surmounted by a crown. The forte is with the cutler’s details of Prosser 9 Charing Cross. The fire gilt cross guard is with embossed decoration of regimental pattern. Two piece grip with four gilt floral patteri and retaining original bullion sword knot. Complete with original crimson velvet covered scabbard, with fire gilt metal mounts. The chape is with embossed decoration. Fitted with two loose rings. The overall condition is good, minor wear.

The blade etched with a Crowned VR cypher panel. This cypher is repeated to the gilt open guard, with encloses a shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Complete with black patent leather guard lining and original gold bullion and crimson sword not. Black leather scabbard of correct size with brass mounts, the top mount with frog button. Overall GC light pitting to the blade.

Dragoons / Sussex Yeomanry Boer War 1899 Pattern Cavalry Sword A good example, bearing issue stamps to the hilt and scabbard for the 2nd Dragoon Guards, 6th Dragoon Guards and finally the Sussex Yeomanry. The slightly-curved fullered blade bearing various stamps including inspection stamp for December 1900. Plain sheet steel guard, the outside with pear-shaped reinforcement around the blade. Chequered leather grip with three rivets. Complete with steel scabbard and white buff leather sword knot. Clean condition.

Cutler’s details of Wilkinson to the forte; blade numbered ‘29643’ (1889). The hilt with regimental pattern guard incorporating the Order of the Thistle device, shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Housed in correct plated scabbard and leather sword knot. Overall GC some wear to the scabbard.

Highland Regiment Officer’s Broadsword by Wilkinson. A good Elizabeth II period example of the Scottish Highland 1831 pattern sword. The straight doubled edged blade with central fuller is etched with panels of thistles. To the forte the Wilkinson’s logo and crest and the blade is numbered “96647”. Full nickel plated basket guard with pierced heart panel design enclosing a shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Retaining full buff leather and scarlet faced lining, also crimson tassels. Housed in metal scabbard. The blade remains in very good condition, etching clear, but PLEASE NOTE the very tip of blade is absent. The basket and scabbard plating dulled.

Edwardian Gordon Highlanders Attributed Officer’s Broadsword by Wilkinson. A scarce regimental example of the Scottish Highland 1831 pattern sword. The straight doubled edged blade with central fuller is etched with Crowned EVIIR cypher, Regimental device and title. Also panels of thistles and original owners initials “R.O.B.C”. To the forte the Wilkinson’s logo and crest and the blade is numbered “41617” (1907). Full nickel plated basket guard with pierced heart panel design enclosing a shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Retaining full buff leather and scarlet faced lining, also crimson tassels. Housed in metal scabbard. The blade remains in good condition, etching clear, but PLEASE NOTE the  pommel is absent and the basket and grip are loose. The basket and scabbard plating dulled.Attributed to Ronald Ogilvy Blair-Cunynghame who was commissioned into the 2nd Bn 11th December 1907. He landed in France with his Regiment with the rank of Captain and Died of Wounds on the 5th May 1915.

WW2 Royal Marine Commando attributed BC41 Fighting knife. A scarce and unusual example attributed to Sergeant Hide of 4 Troop 1 Commando. The steel knuckle grip moulded with the letters “BC41”. Bowie style blade, riveted through to the grip, tang again with stampings. Housed in original stitched and riveted leather scabbard, the reverse of this with pencil name “Hide”. The hilt with oval crossguard and two piece grip secured by brass and steel rivets. One grip with carved initials. Complete with original leather and alloy mounted scabbard. The alloy throat with scratched initials and the chape decorated with a City of London style shield. Fitted with leather retaining strap and belt loops. GC.
