A Third Reich Army officer’s sword, blade 32” with impressed mark of E Pach & Sohne, Solingen and etched on one side only with eagle and swastika, helmet over crossed rifles and panels of foliage, the brass hilt with lion’s head pommel with red glass eyes, oak leaf embossed knucklebow, crosspiece and langet with eagle and swastika, and wire bound blade grip, in its black painted grey metal scabbard with leather vertical belt hanger having plated spring clip, and portepee with blue wool upper part to the acorn, GC, traces of plating to blade. Basically GC, the blade sound.

An 1821 pattern light cavalry officer’s sword of the 19th Hussars slightly curved, fullered blade, 35” by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall London, no 25903 on backstrap (for 1884), etched on one side with crowned VR cypher and on the other with crown “Hussars”, 19, the Elephant, and 7 battle honours “Assaye” to “Tamai”, in scrolled, fenestrated panels, regulation steel hilt with knucklebow, sideloop and 2 sidebars, stepped pommel, chequered thumbpiece to backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, with knot (AF). A Turkish sword, yataghan, blade 23½”, with silver damascened panels at the forte and with simulated damascus panels inlaid with silver scrolls and characters (?), the steel hilt silver damascened overall with foliate panels, in its leather covered scabbard with silver damascened chape and locket. A Vic infantry field officer’s 1845 pattern sword of the 7th (or Royal Fusiliers), slightly curved, fullered blade 32½”, and 1¼” wide at forte, etched with crowned VR cypher and grenade with “VIII” on the ball on one side, and crowned regimental badge and scrolls “Martinique”, “Albuhera”, “Talavera”, “Badajoz” and “Salamanca” on the other, all in foliate panels, regulation brass hilt incorporating crowned VR cypher with turn down inner portion, stepped pommel, plain backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, in its brass scabbard (tip AF) with 2 rings. Basically GC for age ( worn overall, etching faint). See inside front cover.
An 1845 pattern infantry officer’s sword, slightly curved, fullered blade 32”, by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, no 8491 (for 1857) on backstrap, etched on both sides with crowned VR cypher in foliate panels, regulation brass hilt with sideloop knucklebow and sidebars incorporating crowned VR cypher, stepped pommel, plain backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip. Basically GC (some wear, no scabbard, hilt mis-shapen)
A 19th century Burmese sword dha, slightly curved fullered blade 24½”, with silver inlaid full length panels on both sides, featuring figures, stylized animals, foliage and inscriptions, plain sheet silver covered hilt with engraved conical pommel and central panel with figures and foliage, in its plain copper scabbard with 10 (top 4 missing or AF) narrow ornamental brass bands. An early 19th century smallsword, tapering, triangular section blade 33½”, blued and gilt for top quarter and etched with fanciful scrolls, polished steel hilt, shallow upturned, pierced oval guard, crossguard with small pas d’ane rings, chain link guard, spiral fluted urn pommel and swollen grip, with studded patterns overall, in its fragmented scabbard, retaining locket and ring. An important 19th Century sword of historical value, made for a survivor of the Charge of the Light Brigade, with inscription - Presented by the parishioners of Bottisham and other friends to Soame Cambier Jenyns CB Major - 13 Light Dragoons, Crimea Balaklava September 5th 1856 - with scabbard, total length 102cm.At Balaclava Jennyns was a captain and when two of his superior officers were killed during the charge of the Light Brigade, he was in command of the 13th brigade, it was his responsibility to return the remnant of his troops to British lines, bringing nine mounted men back.There is a memorial brass plaque on the North wall of Bottisham church Cambridgeshire .Generally good condition, some plating loss to tip of sword and some smaller spots
A 19th century infantry officer's dress sword, the blade marked London and with Victorian cypher and the Light Infantry crowned horn to the basket hilt, with shagreen grip and brown leather scabbard, length 107cm. CONDITION REPORT Scabbard is 91cm long, blade is 82.5cm long. Grip wires are intact, no jiggle to the pommel.
