Brown wooden grip inlaid with silvered eagle and enamelled circular SA device. Housed in original brown scabbard with nickel plated mounts, the top one with single suspension ring retaining black leather hanging strap (stamped 2/371/70) with spring clip by Assmann with RZM logo and DRGM M5/8. A few small spots of rust on blade otherwise GC. SA (Sturmabteilung) ‘Brown Shirts’ dagger introduced in 1933.

Gilded brass mounts with twist wire bound simulated ivory grip; eagle and swastika pommel. Housed in its gilded brass scabbard with lightening bolt designs and retaining both suspension rings. Hairline to grip, gilding worn to brass. GC Introduced in 1938.

Brown wooden grip inlaid with silvered eagle and swastika and enamelled circular SA device, nickel fittings, reverse of crossguard with ‘BO’ (Group Bayerische Ostmark). Housed in black painted scabbard, the top nickel plated mount with single suspension ring. Generally VGC. NSKK (National Socialist Motor Corps) wore standard SA daggers from 1933 until 1936 when black scabbards were adopted.

Minor rust to forte. GC gilt remains bright. Retains one simulated silk velvet backed suspension strap with matching flash gilt hooks and lions head billet ... Also bullion dagger knot. Introduced in 1938.

Mid Victorian Royal Engineers Sword By Wilkinson of London. This example is attributed to Colonel Herbert Paget Knocker who was commissioned into the Royal Engineers in 1863. The single edged slightly curved blade with etched decoration depicting a reverse entwined crowned VR cypher. The obverse with the regimental title, a family armourial crest and initials ‘H.P.K.’. The forte with the cutler’s details of Wilkinson and the blade is numbered ‘12958’ (1864). The hilt of the regimental pattern, with a honeysuckle guard and shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Housed in steel scabbard. Overall GC blade etching clear, scabbard with light pitting Colonel Herbert Paget Knocker was commissioned in June 1863, Captain 1877, Major 1883, Lt Col 1890, Brevet Colonel 1894 and retired 1895

Early 19th Century Gold Inlaid Quality Khyber Knife. A rare good quality example. The single edged Yataghan blade with rear edge fullers. The blade profusely inlaid with gold floral and script panels, leading to the forte. The ferrule again decorated with gold kufgari work, leading onto the grip side frame. Slab ivory grips with figured decoration and secured by three steel rivets. Complete with original blind tooled leather decorated wooden scabbard. Fitted with small copper chape. Overall GC with slight damage to leather covering of scabbard and wear to grip, kufgari work remains bright.

Unusual Far East Naval Officer’s Sword. This example closely follows the Royal Navy regulations and therefore probably a British Colonial Navy. The narrow half inch blade with a central single fuller and three quarter length etched decoration in the German style. This depicts sailing ships scrolling foliage and a Crest possibly Siam or Burmese. The hilt with a Royal Navy King’s Crown gilt metal guard embossed with a fouled crowned anchor. White shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Fitted with a RN style lion head pommel and back strap, the lion head surmounted by a Eastern style Crown. Complete with black leather scabbard with gilt mounts, the chape embossed with a fouled anchor device. Overall GC.

Royal Siam (Thailand) Navy Officer’s Presentation Sword To W/C F.F. Lambert DSO., DFC. CD., C de G. A rare example, complimented by Wing Commander Frederick Frank Lambert’s service dress tunic. The sword was retailed by Gives of London. The straight single edged blade with etched decoration depicting the crest of the Royal Siam Navy and to the forte the retailer’s details of ‘Gieves’ The hilt with an open gilt bar guard incorporating the Arms of Siam. The white shagreen grip, is decorated with twist wire binding and surmounted by an Elephant head pommel. Complete with original leather and gilt mounted scabbard. The top mount of the scabbard with presentation scrip ‘To Wing Commander F.F. Lambert DSO., DFC., CD, C de G Burma India Far East 1941-1942 from Commander Ut Kasem Tantiprasut’. The overall condition is good, gilt to the hilt bright and fresh, blade with some staining and the leather has lost its colouring ... Accompanied by a post 1953 RCAF light weight service dress tunic. To the left breast RCAF Pilot Wings, medal ribbons: DSO, DFC, IGS, 1939/45 Star, Air Crew Europe Star, with rosette, Africa Star, Burma Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, War Medal, MID, Canadian Decoration, with Rosette, French C de G. The lining with tailor’s label of Randoff Hagen Zweibrucken. GC ... Also accompanied by a 1992 model making magazine giving details of Mosquito aircraft flown by W/C Lambert. (three items) Wing Commander Frederick Frank Lambert DSO., DFC., CD., C de G was born in Wilkie Saskatchewan. After a short service with Royal Canadian Navy Reserve he sailed to England and joined the RAF in 1936. Granted a permanent commission he qualified as a Pilot and served with 27 Squadron on the North West Frontier. Still serving in India at the outbreak of the Second World War, he continued to serve here and then was posted to 2 Fighter Wing in Burma. In 1942 he returned to the UK and after a conversion course was posted to 141 on Intruder Operations flying the Mosquito and was then posted to 515 Squadron of 100 Special Operations Group. He was awarded the DFC in August 1944 and the DSO January 1945. During his service he shot down two enemy aircraft. After the war he transferred to the RCAF and held various posts, until his retirement in 1962, he died in the UK 1998.

The hilt with lacquered black grip with twist wire binding. The brass single bar guard, cross guard, pommel and back strap is engraved with oak leaf and acorn designs, which is repeated to the rounded langets. Complete with original black painted scabbard. GC clean condition.

6th Dragoon Guards 1912 Cavalry Officer’s Sword by Wilkinson A rare example of the special Regimental pattern. Blade engraved with crowned GvR cypher, regimental device, floral decoration and initials ‘L.E.R.B.’. To the forte cutler’s details of Henry Wilkinson of Pall Mall and the blade is numbered 59551. Solid guard is of special pattern incorporating the regimental device and decorated with floral decoration. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Housed in steel and brown leather field service scabbard. The sword is with age wear, plating to the hilt peeling, staining to the blade, leather to throat of scabbard worn.

19th Century Burmese Dha Sword. A good quality example, the slightly curved 24 1/2 inch blade is etched to both sides with warriors and scrip. The hilt of sheet silver with the grip area decorated once again with warriors and picked out in red. The pommel in the form of a dome, with floral decoration. Complete with original wooden scabbard. Overall GC blade in clean condition, some dents to the grip and spme banding absent to the scabbard. .... Accompanied by a post 1916 French Lebel bayonet, with nickel grip. Complete with scabbard. 8th (King’s Royal Irish) Hussars 1912 Cavalry Officer’s attributed Sword. This example was carried by Lt William Holliday Hartley MC who died in March 1918 during the Great German Offensive. A brother Officer wrote ‘There was not a braver or more dashing young fellow in France in my opinion.’ The blade etched with crowned GvR cypher, and name panel ‘William Holliday Hartley’. The solid guard decorated with floral decoration. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Scabbard absent. Sword has been painted black at some time, now with light surface rusting. Lt William Holliday Hartley was educated at Harrow and applied for a commission in 1914. Being refused on medical grounds he volunteered and enlisted in the Public Schools Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers and went to France in November, 1915. After being promoted to Corporal he was sent home to take a commission. After service with a Cavalry Reserve Regiment he was gazetted to the 8th Hussars and joined the Regiment in France, in April, 1917, in which month he was wounded. He was awarded the Military Cross. He was killed on March 22nd, 19 18, whilst holding a trench with his troop between Hervilly and Herbecourt, during the great German offensive of March, 191 8. At the time he was directing machine-gun fire and was last seen being attended to by a German doctor.
