An 1821 pattern heavy cavalry officer's sword, retailed by Lonsdale & Tyler CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear, tarnish and pitting, please see photos for examples of condition, blade approx. 88.5 cm long. Pommel appears to be firm. Scabbard with a few small knocks and dents.

A sword by A & E Horster, one other sword, two carbine bayonets and a Remington 1907 pattern bayonet, stamped 1913 CONDITION REPORTS Swords very rusted, wear, knocks, grips very deteriorated and with losses, metal fitments appear to have been repainted. Bayonets all with wear and scuffs, some knocks and bumps, some rusting and pitting, two of scabbards appear to have fairly new leather replacements, and possibly some replacement metal fittings. The other leather scabbard is more worn and bears a mark/stamp (see photos), metal attachements/pins to scabbard appear similar to those on the other scabbards, so not not whether these are original.

An 1821 pattern heavy cavalry trooper's sword, in metal scabbard CONDITION REPORTS Length of blade approx 95.5cm. Very rusted. Wear, scuffs, tarnish, pitting. Grip/handle very deteriorated and with losses (please see photos). Blade appears to be firm in its hilt, blade is quite flexible.

Lot 149B

An 1854 pattern Welsh Guards officer's sword by Wilkinson, in leather scabbard CONDITION REPORTS Blade length approx 81.5cm. There does not appear to be a number to the blade, but the knuckle guard has "RA 973-6885 1977" scratched into it, and the metal mount to the scabbard is inscribed "WS 96 127 9993". Overall some light general wear and a few scuffs and knocks to the guard, but generally appears in tidy condition.

Head of Zeus left, wearing laurel wreath; ??????S behind / Phemios, naked but for chlamys draped over his left arm and belt holding a short sword in a scabbard, standing right in throwing stance, preparing to hurl javelin in right hand and holding his petasos as if it were a small shield with his left; ??????O[?] to left, monogram to lower right. BCD Thessaly II 47.4 (same dies); Rhousopoulos 1238 (same dies). Good VF, die break on reverse. Very rare.
