N.o 51' on one side and 'JOHAN SVENGREN ESKILSTUNA' on the other. Brass hilt. Wooden grip, partially painted in black, with a big hole. Leather scabbard with brass mounts, cap with a loop. length 57,5 cm.

dating: circa 1900 provenance: India, Wide, straight, double-edged, damask blade, provided with ten grooves and respective raisers; beautiful, iron hilt with a silver foil covering; big, shell-shaped knuckle-guard with beams ending with seven heads of Makara (a mythical creature of Indian mythology); wide, lateral bands and double crossbar decorated with large knots in the center and with grooves. Original, wooden scabbard with fabric covering (very worn-out). length 68 cm.

Tang covered with silver foils, engraved with a figure, birds and geometrical motifs. Horn grip, chiselled with raisers and longitudinal grooves, with silver mounts, engraved with floral and geometrical motifs. Wooden, leather-covered scabbard with white metal mounts. length 46,5 cm.

Gilded, brass hilt, shell-guard with horns of plenty in relief and laurel branches surrounding a badge with enameled Maltese cross (a chip). Guard and pommel with garlands. Grip with mother-of-pearl grip scales. No scabbard. length 96,5 cm.

WW1 Royal Naval Air Service RNAS 1914-1918 Officer's Sword.An extremely rare example of a RNAS Officer's Sword retailed through Gillott & Hasell of London. The sword follows the Royal Navy pattern, the slightly curved single edge blade is etched with a Royal Coat of Arms, with 'RNAS' below. The reverse etched with a Crown and Eagle device. The forte with retailers details. The hilt of RN pattern with lion head pommel and white shagreen grip. To the guard replacing the usual Crown and Anchor device is a Crown, Pair of Wings and 'RNAS'. Complete with black leather and gilt mounted scabbard. The overall condition is good three rust spots to the blade, gilt dulled.
