Tarnish and discolouration, as well as general wear, dust and dirt - especially to the hilt section. Scabbard heavily worn and should be considered af, has numerous holes, rust, corrosion and knocks. Scabbard is not original to the sword.

Blade has some patches of surface rust and pitting. Scabbard may also be associated but fits well to blade. Showing general wear and signs of age throughout.

CONDITION REPORT: This sword has been broken in half and has lost a significant portion of the blade and scabbard, the part that remains is in a worn condition. The symbol is an anchor with a snake around it.

Japanese 'Shin Gunto Sword', all metal construction, blade is marked in Japanese with the number 4612, blade length approximately 66cm, the grip is metal, not wrapped and does not have the usual corded grip with tang dowling pins present, the scabbard is all metal and bent/dented on the bottom 1/3rd
