A 1958-production L1A3 bayonet with parkerized blade and scabbard for the Self Loading Rifle, marked 9600257 *The L1A3 bayonet was introduced into British service during the late 1950s to eliminate the protruding press stud used on the L1A1 and L1A2 designs. It was felt that the protruding press stud made the bayonet too easily dislodged, so the press stud was made flush with the pommel.
1st millennium BC. A hollow-formed bronze sword fitting, possibly a pommel or the chape from a scabbard; discoid with central pierced boss and surrounding C-shaped recess, two pairs of lugs flanking the upper opening, each pierced for attachment. 136 grams, 68mm (2 3/4"). [No Reserve] Fine condition. Rare. Ex Kelway collection; formed between 1975 and 2015; found Lincolnshire, UK. Exhibited at The Collection for the Society of Antiquaries Exhibition 2019-2010, Lincoln Museum, Lincolnshire, UK, exhibition number 9. Recorded with the Portable Antiquities Scheme with reference number LIN-34D2A3; accompanied by a print out of the PAS report.
13th-15th century AD. A mixed bronze group comprising: a heater-shaped pendant with reserved lion rampant; a heater-shaped pendant with three lions passant gardant reserved on a red enamel field; a heater-shaped stud divided per fess with red enamel to the upper cell; a discoid pendant with eight radiating arms, central roundel with reserved eagle on an enamel field; a gilt scabbard mount(?) with crenellated lower edge, repousse heater shield flanked by wyverns, lion rampant. 50 grams total, 22-53mm (1 - 2 1/4"). Fine condition. Property of a Suffolk lady; acquired on the UK art market. [5, No Reserve]
