A speculative European made mameluke hilted sword for the Eastern market, plain fullered Solingen made blade 31", the gilt brass hilt embossed and hand finished overall with flowers and foliage and inset on one side with small coloured glass "stones", in its brown velvet covered scabbard with similarly embossed gilt brass mounts mounted with filigree rosettes inset with coloured glass "stones". GC (some stones missing, minor wear to the velvet.) £200-300

A scarce 1796 undress pattern Heavy Cavalry Officer's sword, blade 35½" with hatchet point, etched, blued and gilt with crown over "GR", trophies, etc, the back edge marked "J J Runkel, Solingen", the steel "honeysuckle" pattern hilt having wire bound leather covered grip, in its steel scabbard engraved with maker's rectangular mark of S. Brunn, Charing Cross (barely legible). GC (light honest age wear overall, dent to scabbard). £2500-3000
A Third Reich Luftwaffe officer's sword, by SMF Solingen, the blade with Waffenampt mark, the hilt with aluminium mounts and gold anodised swastikas, in its aluminium mounted scabbard, the upper mount engraved "Oberst/Alfred Druichel/ SG 4/ Ritterkreuz/21-8-1941/ Eichenlaubs 3-9-1942/ Schwertern/19-2-1943" over a crest in circle. Very worn condition, some corrosion to the aluminium, scabbard leather peeling off. £300-325

Officers and Men of the H (Worthing) Company of the 2nd Royal Sussex Regt on completion of the 25 Years Service 17th October 1891", with regulation pattern gilt brass hilt with wire bound fishskin covered grip, in its plated steel scabbard. Near VGC, the hilt retaining all original gilt (a few marks and one dent to the scabbard). £600-800

Late 18th Century Shagreen Scissor Case, in gilt metal with studding to the hinged opening including a pair of stylish steel scissors with rose metal tiny flower heads, 10.3cm, pair of Small Steel and Plated Sewing Scissors with an embossed scabbard, 8cm Wooden Miniature Pear Shaped Tape Measure with bone stalk, 4.5cm (3) Private Sewing Collection Shagreen scissor case and scissors - leather missing to lower part of scissor case, and splits around the hinged top, some small brass studs missing, rubbing to inside. The scissors have some tarnishing and some of the flower heads are very worn/missing?Scissors and scabbard - a marriage, the end of the scissor blades look to be straight/damaged? Some tarnishing and rubbing. The scabbard has a tiny split to the end, and slight rubbing and wear. Tape Measure - slight wear to the outer case, encloses a red silk measure which is worn.

There are some scuffs to the cases. There is no paperwork with the lot.
A George VI Naval Officer's dress sword. The brass hilt with folding side guard and fishskin grip, in a brass mounted leather scabbard, length 91cm, The blade rusted and pitted. The gilt to the brass fittings on the scabbard are rubbed with some areas of verdigris, the locket is loose, length of the scabbard 76.5cm. Additional images on Lay's website.
