The blade has crizzled pitting at the ricasso. There is some scratching to the enamel of the scabbard. The steel clip on the leather hanging strap is rust pitted.

A German Third Reich Kriegsmarine Dagger, the 25.5cm double edge steel blade with two narrow fullers to each side, etched with a fouled anchor and entwined dolphins, with maker's squirrel ORIGINAL, Solingen mark for Carl Eickhorn, the gilt metal hilt with wire bound cream celluloid grip, the gilt metal scabbard engraved with lightning bolts and with black velvet hanging straps with gilt clips and buckles, 42cm . Tip of blade has been slightly re-ground, with minor black spotting. Slight dent and bend to the scabbard at the tip. Wear to the hanging straps and damage to one of the clips

A German Third Reich Fire Department Officer's Dagger/Sidearm, the 41cm double edge steel blade faintly etched with martial trophies within foliate strapwork, the nickel plated hilt with flat trefoil quillons to the crossguard centred by a helmet and axe, wire bound leather grip and acanthus capped ball pommel, the brown leather scabbard with nickel plated mounts and twin suspender rings, 54.5cm. Blade is very rust pitted making the etching difficult to make out.The nickel plating of the hilt and scabbard is very worn. The scabbard had a crease to the leather just below the locket.

A George V 1897 Pattern Infantry Officer's Sword, the 82cm fullered steel blade etched with crowned GVR cypher and foliate tendrils, with Proved poincon, by Hamburger, Rogers & Co., London, the steel hilt pierced and engraved with crowned GVR cypher, with wire bound fishskin grip and steel scabbard; a Very Similar Example, with un-named blade and leather service scabbard (2). 1 - Crisply etched. Some black patching to blade, hilt and scabbard. Lacks some of its wire binding. 2 - Pitting to blade, particularly near the tip. Black patching to hilt with remains of leather sword knot strap. Leather scabbard is shabby and coming unstitched at the seams.

An Early 19th Continental Pioneer Sword, the 53cm saw-back steel blade with a central narrow fuller to each side, the brass crossguard with down-turned disc quillons, with horn grip scales and bird head pommel, the steel mounted leather scabbard stamped 1192, 76cm. Nicks to blade edge. The grip scales are chipped. One quillon is bent inwards. The steel mounts of the scabbard are rust pitted.

A US Third Pattern Commando Knife by Winchester, the 17.5cm double edge blackened steel blade with uneven raised medial ridge to each side, etched WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK/MADE IN USA, ribbed alloy grip, the pommel with number 1 mould number, with brass nut, the double stitched leather scabbard with six brass eyelets Provenance:- from the Roy Shadbolt Collection. The blade is thought to have come from the US and assembled in the UK. During the Second World War Britain was short of commodities and it is thought that the US sent only the blades to the UK to be assembled . Blade has a flaw to one side, and three smaller flaws to the opposing side. The raised medial ridge to each side is rather wavy,. The grip has wear and some corrosion.

Black patching to most of the blade, with faint etching and nicks to the edge. Slight wear to the gilt on the hilt. Lacks scabbard.

Minor black patching to blade. Wear to gilt on hilt and scabbard which has three tiny dents to one side. The gilt metal mounts to the hanging straps have wear, one is lacking its clip at one end. Some fraying to portapee.

A German Third Reich Luftwaffe Dagger, First Pattern, the 30.5cm double edge nickel plated steel blade faintly etched with maker's mark F.& A. Helbig GAEFLER Steinbach, the hilt with gilt sunwheel swastika to the langet on one side, with wire bound blue leather grip and disc pommel (lacks sunwheel swastika), the blue leather scabbard with nickel mounts and chain hanger (af). The plating on the blade is worn and flaking off. Wear to the finish on the hilt. One side of the langet and the disc pommel are lacking the sunwheel swastikas. The scabbard has a hole to the tip of the chape. The leather is worn and shabby, with some losses.

Good clean condition.

An Imperial German Fire Official's Dagger, the 33cm double edge steel blade etched with ladders, fire hooks and axes within foliage, the ricasso faintly marked with a visored helmet, the nickel plated hilt with panelled ovoid quillons to the crossguard, wire bound ebony grip and flaming ball and wave pommel, the leather scabbard with nickel plated mounts with twin suspender rings, 47cm. Small patches of black pitting to blade. The plated finish to the hilt and scabbard is very worn. Some rubbing to the leather of the scabbard.

A Victorian 1827 Pattern Rifle Regiment Officer's Sword, the 82cm single edge fullered steel blade etched with a strung bugle and foliate tendrils, with Proof poincon and maker's name Forbes, Camden Town, the steel gothic hilt pierced and engraved with a strung bugle, with partially chequered back strap, wire bound fishskin grip and steel scabbard; a Very Similar Sword, the blade faintly etched with crowned VR cypher, the hilt with smooth back strap, and with associated steel scabbard (2). Both have black patching and rust pitting to the blades, the etching is faint. The latter sword has dents to the scabbard which does not quite fit.

A Rare German Third Reich NPEA Junior Leader's Dagger, the 22cm double edge steel blade etched Mehr sein als scheinen to one side, the opposing side with transitional maker's mark for Eickhorn, Solingen and RZM M 7/66 1938, with nickel plated hilt, the underside of the lower crossguard stamped B 22, the wood grip inset with silver eagle and swastika, the olive green enamelled steel scabbard with leather frog, 36.5cm.. Small black patch to blade, otherwise in good condition. Green corrosion top the nickel plated hilt mounts, with rust pitting to the pommel nut. Scabbard is good, leather frog has a crackled finish.

A Second World War Royal Marines Commando Knife, 2nd Pattern, with 16cm unmarked double edge steel blade with raised medial ridge to each side, the straight crossguard faintly stamped with a broad arrow over 56, with nickel plated diamond chequered brass grip and flat button pommel bearing traces of vice marks, 29cm, lacks scabbard Provenance:- The vendor's father was a Chief Petty Officer Master at Arms serving on various warships during the Second World War. He was responsible, amongst other things on board ship, for the discipline over naval ratings and marines. He acquired the knife at this time. . Rust pitting and black patching to blade. Wear to nickel plating of handle.

Generally good condition. 2 - Hilt is dented, and plating is lifting. Scabbard is damaged.

Fine black patching to areas of the blade. The silver plating to the pommel and crossguard is flaking, with some corrosion beneath. The scabbard has some wear, but no apparent damage.

HOLLER, SOLINGEN, the aluminium hilt with wire bound orange plastic grip, the tang with billet marks, the pebbled steel scabbard with aluminium suspender bands, with grey velvet backed silver lace hanging straps with white metal buckles and clips stamped D.R.G.M.. Pitting to blade which bears traces of brown varnish/lacquer. The pommel is a little loose. There is wear to the scabbard and the mounts of the hanging straps. The scabbard has small dents to each side.
