A Third Reich “Prinz Eugen” pattern Army officer’s sword, also favoured by the Waffen SS, plated blade 34" with post 1941 Eickhorn mark, plated hilt with eagle on pommel and crossguard, wire bound black plastic grip, in its black painted scabbard. GC (hilt plating very slightly bubbled, a few chips to scabbard paint). Plate 28 £550-600.

A late Vic R Naval officer’s sword, very slightly curved, fullered blade, 31½”, by Wilkinson, no 33588 (for 1896) on backstrap, etched on one side with flat topped crowned fouled anchor, and on the other with the R Arms with supporters and motto, all in roped oak wreath panels, regulation brass semi basket guard with crowned fouled anchor, prominent lion’s head pommel and backstrap, wirebound sharkskin grip, in its brass mounted brown leather (replaced) scabbard, with unusual belt loops, Wilkinson logo on the locket, and spring catch into hilt. Basically GC (few rust patches to blade, hilt a little mis-shapen) £150-250

Basically GC (some wear and light pitting to blade) £150-200

A Russian sidearm, curved, shallow fullered blade 26”, with traces of marks at forte, solid brass hilt, the knucklebow with prominent quillon, and stamped and dated 1831, finely ribbed grip, polished black leather scabbard with brass locket, middle band and rings, chape (tip AF). GC (blade shortened, some wear and light pitting). £120-150
A Victorian 1845 pattern Infantry officer’s sword, blade 32½” by Henry Wilkinson, number 23503, etched with the usual crowned “VR” and panels of foliage, also a crest of a griffin’s head with anchor over “L.G. from I.S.H.” and in scrolls “39 Regiment, Primus in Indis”, with regulation brass hilt, in its very worn leather FS scabbard with a leather bayonet frog. QGC (worn overall). Included is a letter from the Royal Armouries with photocopy of the entry for sword No 23503 in the Wilkinson ledger showing that it was completed in February 1880, with no mention of any special engraving, the purchaser’s name indecipherable. £60-100
An 1882 pattern cavalry trooper’s sword, the blade by Weyersberg Kirshbaum & Co, Solingen, and stamped “Y.C”, date “/95”, and various inspection marks, the guard with illegible regimental markings, in its scabbard. QGC (the blade good, the hilt and scabbard rusted overall and painted black) £50-60
A WWI French M 1845 Adjutant of Infantry sword, curved, fullered blade marked on backstrap “Manufacture nationale d’armes de Chatellerault, Mars 1916 Adjt d’Infrie Mle 1845 E”, narrow back fuller, heavy quality brass hilt the guard with scroll quillon, turn down inner edge, floral and foliate pieced panel to outer edge, into quatrefoil section knucklebow, forward sloping cup shaped pommel, with foliate engraved panel, wirebound leather grip, in its steel scabbard with single ring and numbered 61751 en suite with hilt. GC a good clean example. Plate 28 £250-300
