(81cm.) scroll and floral etched blade, crown to centre of blade with George VI initials below, leather scabbard with brass protectors to locket and chape, 38in. (96.6cm.) long overall.

A fine Imperial German Saxon officer’s sabel, slightly curved pipe backed blade 30”, with etched and gilt decoration, back of blade marked “Gustav Emil Doring Leipzig”, etched and gilt panel bearing arms of Saxony and “Eisenhauer”, other side incorporating cypher of the Duke of Saxony. Gilt hilt with lion’s head pommel, red glass eyes, hilt heavily decorated with Saxon arms and foliage etc; langets have ducal cypher in silver applied to one side and plain escutcheon on the other. Gilt wire bound fishskin covered grip. In its blued steel scabbard, complete with bullion knot. In above average GC, blade near VGC Plate 15
