Rare and desirable Victorian 1871 pattern Elcho sawback bayonet by Kirschbaum Solingen for the Martini-Henry rifle - with diced grips, fullered sword back blade with swollen leaf-shaped point in original steel mounted leather scabbard with associated leather frog with strap and buckle to front and WD broad arrow marked to rear and other faint markings, the bayonet is unmarked apart from maker's Knights helm mark.The Elcho bayonet was designed in 1870 by Lord Elcho The 10th Earl of Wemyss & March with a heavy blade for brush-cutting purposes. A small number were issued for trial purposes but was not wildly adopted due to its high cost of manufacture - it is one of the most sought-after of all British bayonets CONDITION REPORT Good original condition overall- some light rust marks and pitting, blade has an edge nick but in good original order- scabbard leather good- some scratches and scuffs, the mounts are pitted- the frog is associated. There are no markings on the bayonet apart from the makers mark on the ricasso
First World War 1912 pattern Cavalry Officers' sword by Henry Wilkinson (no. 51729), with nickel plated scroll engraved bowl guard and shagreen grip, the blade etched with J. N. Williamson in panel and crowned Royal Arms - sharpened for active service, in field service scabbard N.B. 2nd Lieutenant J. N. Williamson was granted an emergency commission in the 2nd Life Guards Reserve Regiment on 14th March 1916. He was promoted Lieutenant on 1st July 1917 and served in France until his discharge in 1919 CONDITION REPORT Good original condition- some light rusting and pitting to hilt and very minor rusting to blade. Scabbard in good order

Aluminium pommel with leather disc grip, 15. 1/8" overall length. A smaller skinning or sheath knife 4.3/4" blade with leather scabbard. Marked Wade & Butcher of Sheffield, with makers arrow mark on the reverse. 9.1/8" overall length, with small fuller.
GENERAL C A WILDING CMG's MAMELUKE SWORD. A Mameluke sword with unusual curved double-edged blade of 31" length, having a raised central spine. The hilt of gilt and damaged ivory on one grip, which will need replacement/repair. Complete with a steel scabbard, again with central spines shaped for the blade having two loop mounts.
A FRENCH 19thC LIGHT CAVALRY SWORD & SCABBARD. An 1822 pattern French Light Cavalry Troopers sword with 36" curved single-edged blade, having no apparent makers or issue markings. Three bar hilt with some damage to the grip covering, complete with steel scabbard. Some rust damage at the blade tip, having approximately 1/8" loss or damage to it.
AN IMPERIAL GERMAN ARTILLERY OFFICERS SWORD & SCABBARD. An Inperial German presentation sword, complete with its steel scabbard. Steel stirrup hilt with leather wrapped grip, having a partial loss in places. The exceptionally clean 30 .1/2" curved blade, with crisp decoration and Berg Held Artill. Regt No 59 in a panel. Over the blade are trophies, foiliage, also a scene of a Horse Artillery Gun, Carriage and outriders. Both the spine and the three-quarter length fullers, are decorated this way. See Illustration
AN 1803 PATTERN OFFICERS SWORD & SCABBARD. An Infantry Officers 1803 pattern sword & scabbard (lacking its chafe), with GR in the hilt. Very clean 28" curved single-edged blade, with large full length fuller. Gilt hilt with some distortion and loose backstrap. No maker evident though R is stamped on the blade. On the gilt fittings leather scabbard is a cartouche with Woolley Deakin Dutton & Johnstone markings. The leather has been repaired, covered on the bottom of the scabbard. See Illustration
A 19thC ITALIAN CAVALRY SWORD & SCABBARD. An officers sword with light pattern pipe-back blade, bearing an 1880 period Italian Royal Crest. The heavily decorated 33" blade with foiliage and trophies over half of the plated blade and pierced guard. Wooden shaped grip and a brown leather field scabbard and attached frog are present.
A WILLIAM 1V OFFICERS SWORD (PROSSER). A William 1V pipeback officers sword with brass hilt and scabbard. The blade of some 32.1/2" length having a William 1V cypher on both sides of the blade, below a crown. Profser Manufacturer to the King, Charing Crofs, below. The blade in clean condition with a gilded hilt, the scabbard with some usage dents evident.
A VICTORIAN R ENGINEERS OFFICERS SWORD. An 1857 pattern Royal Engineers officers sword, with brass pierced guard, which has gilding. With the Royal Engineers badge and device on the 32.1/4" blade with VR entwined. Price & Co, Suffolk St, Pall Mall, London. A very clean blade with a brass scabbard, the latter with little evidence of dents.
A RUSSIAN DRAGOONS SABRE & SCABBARD/BAYONET. A Russian Heavy Dragoons Gt War period with scabbard and fitted bayonet. Various markings to the 32" blade with a three-quarter fuller. 'A' in several places also dated 1916. The black leather and brass scabbard having a fitted bayonet, stirrup hilt and a wooden grip.
A FRENCH CAVALRY SABRE 1898. A French 1898 dated officers cavalry sabre, with ornate pierced basket guard. The clean straight single-edged 33.1/4" blade, marked on the rib with the following. Sabre d'Officer de Cavalerie M1896 3me Caille. Manuf d:Armes de Chat 1898. Ornate pommel and guard with hardwood grip, complete with a steel scabbard.
A SIDEARM. A hanger or side-arm with steel and horn grip and pommel. The crossguard of plain form, the 25" blade possibly from a sword originally. Full length larger fuller with three-quarter narrow fuller, on its single-edged curved blade. Complete with steel mounted leather scabbard, there are many marks stamped on the crossguard. Including Exon Tower, GE, 1556, 12, also a crown over MR. Exons or Corporals of the Kings Guards, might be related to the markings.
A 1908 CAVALRY TROOPERS SWORD. A Wilkinson made 1908 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Troopers Sword, complete with its steel scabbard. The ricasso marked Wilkinson and what might be Worcs Yeo 376 on the back-edge of the 35" blade. A steel guard stamped with a broad arrow and WSC, the hilt with a chequered grip. Some rust evident on the apparently unnumbered scabbard, the blade in clean condition.
A HEAVY CAVALRY SWORD. A 1796 pattern officers undress sword, with straight 32.1/4" blade with narrow central fuller each side. The blade marked Underhill and Cooper.Warranted, who are noted as working in 1803. Some other decoration is evident to the blade, lacking a scabbard. Having a gilt shell guard with straight pattern fluted end quillon.
