Third Reich Hitler Youth Boys Dagger by Herm Konejung A.G Solingen, with two piece black chequered grips with enamel HJ diamond emblem inserted to the centre. Plated pommel and cross guard. Housed in blackened scabbard with leather belt loop fitting but no securing strap. 1st pattern blade with the remains of the motto ‘Blut und Ehre!’ just visible. The reverse of the blade has makers mark for Herm Konejung A-G. Solingen Ges Geschutz. The blade shows wear and evidence of sharpening. Exterior also shows some wear. ADSHEAD R.N.”, group mounted as worn with matching set of mounted miniature medals. Son- 1939 Star medal, Atlantic Star medal, Africa Star medal with clasp ‘North Africa 1942-43’, Burma Star medal and War medal 1939-45, medals unnamed and mounted as worn with matching set of mounted miniature medals. Group attributed to George Edward Roland Adshead (JX. 136367). Also include in this lot is a large size portrait photograph of A.E. Adshead, in uniform and wearing his medals. George V Royal Navy officers sword which retains nearly all of the gilt finish to the fittings. Housed in its original leather and gilt brass mounted scabbard. Blade etched with details. Housed in oilskin cloth sword bag. Royal navy officers bicorn full dress cap housed in its japanned storage tin and leather officers belt with gilt metal buckle. Alfred Edward Adshead was born in Deptford, Kent on 4th October 1884 and he commenced his career in the Royal Navy on 26th April 1904 as a Boy 2nd class on H.M.S. Impregnable. On the outbreak of war in 1914 he was serving as a Petty Officer on H.M.S, Excellent. He was promoted to Acting Gunner on 11th February 1915 a rate that was confirmed on 8th February 1917, he appears to have spent most of the war on board H.M.S. Havelock. Post war he continued his Royal Naval Service with promotion to Commissioned Gunner on 11th February 1925. He died suddenly on board H.M.S. Cornwall whilst in Portsmouth Dockyard on 20th November 1933 and is buried in the Anns Hill Cemetery, Gosport.George Edward Roland Adshead was born in March 1916 and by 1939 had followed in his father’s footsteps and was serving in the Royal Navy, in the March 1945 Navy List he is shown as a Gunner (T) with seniority of 3rd March 1945. He died in Southsea, Hampshire on 11th December 1999.

Double edged blade etched with Wilkinson Sword Co Ltd London makers mark and the reverse ‘THE F-S FIGHTING KNIFE’. Blade shows some wear with evidence of sharpening and shaping. Blade measures 16 ¼ cms, overall 31 ½ cms. Generally a good example of a desirable commando knife.

WW2 German Luftwaffe Issue Combat Boot Knife, fine example of the combat boot knife issued to the German armed forces in WW2 with two piece wooden grips secured by three steel studs. Short steel cross guard and housed in its original blackened scabbard with boot / belt hook attachment. Fine partially double edged knife blade with stamped mark of an eagle with number ‘6’ which would indicate issued to the Luftwaffe Field Divisions or ground assault Paratroopers. Overall a very good example.

Blade 61.5cms. Generally quite good condition, scabbard leather well replaced, hilt re-seated, some age wear overall.

Rare Third Reich Diplomatic Officials Dress Dagger by Alcoso, Solingen, untouched as found example of the rare Diplomatic service dress dagger, designed the same as the government officials dress dagger but the eagles head on the cross guard faces the opposite way to the pommel. Dagger with mother of pearl grips. Plating to the grip and eagle head pommel is worn revealing some of the brass base metal. Cross guard remains in generally good condition. Housed in the original scabbard with two hanging rings, the ring bands of oakleaves relief. Double edged plain blade with makers trademark to the reverse. The blade has some spotting and finger staining. Blade measures 25 ¾ cms, overall 39 ½ cms. The dagger is a good example overall of one of the rarest dress daggers of the Third Reich.
WW2 German K98 Combat Bayonet, with two piece bakelite grips, steel pommel with acceptance stamp to the reverse of the pommel. Housed in its steel scabbard stamped ‘5190’ and with leather bayonet frog attached. Blade with fuller to the back edge, good percentage of the blueing remaining to the blade. The blade is numbered ‘5455’ and reverse ‘41asw’. Blade 25cms, overall 40 ½ cms.
WW2 German Army Officers Dagger by Alcoso Solingen, the dagger is fitted with a black grip which is the type used on the so called 1st model railway dagger, but from our understanding these daggers were only made by Robert Klaas. This dagger is complete with the top pommel, eagle cross guard with pronounced central eagle, housed in its original scabbard with two hanging rings. Original officers dagger portepee / knot attached. Good full length double edged blade with Alcoso, Solingen makers trade mark to the base. Blade measures 25 ½ cms, overall 39 ½ cms.

Acceptance stamp and crown over ‘W 07’ to the spine of the blade. Generally good condition. The blade measures 52 ¼ cms, overall 68cms.

Makers trade mark to the base of the blade. Some wear to the blade and exterior fittings but generally still a good example.

1796 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Troopers Sword, regulation blade with spear point stamped Hadley on back edge, crowned inspector’s stamp, regulation pierced iron guard with rear section officially removed, ribbed wooden grip (leather covering removed), in its iron scabbard with twin suspension rings. Blade 87.5cms. Basically good condition, blade edges and edge of guard all refinished, scabbard and hilt moderately rusted overall, acceptable black patina overall.

Scottish N.C.O’s Basket Hilt Backsword Post 1912, plain regulation blade cut with a single fuller, etched Fenton Brothers Sheffield, Cutlers Established 1850, Silversmiths to H M Government, and with issue stamps for 1912, 1914 and 1925, regulation type brass basket hilt with wire bound fish skin covered grip, in its leather covered field service scabbard (suspension band missing). Blade 83cms. Good condition.
WW2 British 2nd Pattern ‘B2’ Fairbairn Sykes (F.S) Commando Knife, good example with brass grip, steel cross guard stamped with broad arrow, ‘B2’ and ‘ENGLAND’. Housed in its leather scabbard with brass lower chape. Complete with the leg tabs to the scabbard. Elasticated strap missing from the belt loop. Unmarked double edged blade with medial ridge. The blade measures 17 cms, overall 32 cms.
