SEPERABIT. MDCCLXXXIII, and with Royal initials GR, with further shamrock to the grip and with a acorn shape pommel, with a later scabbard. (2)
An 1853 pattern cavalry trooper’s sword, slightly curved, fullered blade 33½” (the tip rounded) with inspectors stamp and Indian army broad arrow with I on backstrap, steel hilt with broad knucklebow, sideloop and 2 sidebars, chequered composition grips, various stamps on back of guard incorporating V,Y, AA, 8/98 etc, in later pattern steel scabbard with opposing rings, hilt and scabbard with contemporary black painted finish overall. GC (minor wear to blade with dark rust patina, blade does not fully enter scabbard).
A WWI period RNVR officer’s presentation sword, almost straight fullered blade 31½”, by Wilkinson, no 44684 (for 1914) on backstrap, with retailer’s name “Gieve, Matthews & Seagrove Ltd” on the opposite side to Wilkinson at forte, etched with R Arms and fouled anchor with RNVR on one side and on the other “Presented to Lieutenant William Robert Dann, RNVR, Officer Commanding RNVR Cadet Corps and Lads Naval Brigade, from the Officers and Lads, Past and Present, as a Token of Their Great Esteem and Regard for the Outstanding Voluntary Work Done during a Period of Six Years”, all within roped oak wreath panels, regulation brass half basket hilt incorporating crowned fouled anchor and RNVR, lion’s head pommel and backstrap, wirebound white fishskin grip, in its brass mounted leather scabbard with Wilkinson logo in shield on locket, which has a spring clip locking to the hilt, 2 suspension rings, with sword knot (worn). Near VGC, the blade mint (most hilt gilt rubbed). Plate 3

Chicopee Mass” on one side at forte and “US GWC 1864” on the other, plain brass knucklebow and stud quillon, ball pommel, simulated wirebound grip, in its panelled leather scabbard, brass locket, with stud loop, and chape (scabbard broken at junction with chape). GC the blade good (dark patina to hilt and scabbard mounts). Plate 3
A Vic 1827 pattern Rifle officer’s sword of the 1st Cheshire (Birkenhead) Rifle Vols slightly curved blade 33”, etched with strung bugle with scrolls “1st Cheshire” and “Rifle Volunteers” above and below on one side, and crowned VR cypher with owner’s crest and Gothic initials “CJ” (Charles Jones, Capt 18.2.69) on the other, in foliate scrolls, regulation steel hilt incorporating crowned strung bugle, slightly forward sloping stepped pommel, plain backstrap with chequered thumbpiece, wirebound fishskin grip. In its steel scabbard (slightly bent) with 2 rings. GC (minor wear and light pitting). Plate 3
A good large Moro shortsword barong, heavy swollen blade 17”, into 3 stage silver mount, lightly engraved with stylized foliage, and polished brown wood hilt of traditional form, the pommel set with 3 bone triangles on each side and pierced and carved with scrolls at the top and pedestal scroll at the lower end, in its 2 tone wooden scabbard, the front face of the top scrolled and carved, with foliate border. VGC Plate 4

An Ed VII RN midshipman’s dirk, blade 18”, DE at point, by Gieves, Matthews & Seagrove Ltd, London, Portsmouth & Devonport etched with crowned Ed VII cypher on one side and crowned fouled anchor on the other, in stylized oak wreath panels, copper gilt hilt with crossguard (mis-shapen) with acorn finials, fouled anchor in crowned wreath in front, lion’s head pommel and backstrap, wirebound white sharkskin grip, in its leather scabbard, brass locket with 2 opposing rings and spring clip (loose) to crossguard, brass chape. Basically GC, the hilt retaining a little gilt (some wear overall)
A Vic 1827 pattern rifle officer’s sword, very slightly curved, fullered blade, 32”, by Firmin & Sons 153 Strand London, etched with crowned VR cypher on one side and strung bugle with blank escutcheon on the other, in scrolled, fenestrated panels, regulation steel hilt incorporating crowned strung bugle, stepped pommel, backstrap with chequered thumbpiece, fishskin grip (wire missing). Basically GC, the blade retaining some original polish (blade abraded at forte on one side, small rust spots overall, dark patina to hilt, no scabbard). Plate 3

Basically GC (worn overall, blade etching faint).
