A 19th century French 1822 pattern cavalry sabre, the brass hilt with two bar guard, 92cms long twin Fuller steel blade; together with its steel scabbard.Condition ReportThe scabbard has some surface corrosion but no dents and it measures out to be 94cms long. The pommel and guard are secure with no jiggle.
Imperial German Mauser 1898 Bayonet, with two piece wooden grips, steel pommel and long cross guard. Housed in its black leather and brass mounted scabbard. Regimental markings to the rear of the top scabbard mount. Piped back blade as found in the Prussian model 1860 bayonet. Crowned acceptance stamp with ‘W 68’ and crowned mark underneath, reverse side with makers details of ‘W CLAUBERG SOLINGEN’. Blade 51cms, overall 65 ½ cms.
Imperial German KAR 98 Bayonet, good untouched as found example with two piece wooden grips, steel pommel and housed in its steel scabbard with an original 1915 dated leather frog attached. The frog has the original bayonet trodel / knot attached. Standard blade with fuller to the back edge. J A Henckels makers mark. Some staining and wear to the blade but otherwise a good example. Blade measures 25cms, overall 41cms.
WW2 German Army Officers Dress Dagger by Carl Eickhorn Solingen, with orange celluloid grip, pommel with oakleaves relief and cross guard in the form of German army eagle and swastika. Housed in its original scabbard with two hanging rings. Attached to the scabbard is an original but well worn pair of brocade dress hangers which appear to have been painted silver at one time. Double edged blade with Carl Eickhorn, Solingen makers trade mark. The dagger blade retains some of the original cross graining. Blade 25cms, overall 40cms.
Continental Cavalry Officers Sword c.1840, curved single edge blade 75cms, cut with a single broad fuller and blued and gilt for first 20cms with small devices including 2 martial trophies, blade with maker’s initials A. K. beneath langet, brass hilt with traces of gilding (knuckle bow missing), lion’s head pommel, prominent oval langets with trophies of arms in relief, one piece chequered ivory grip, in its brass mounted iron scabbard. British 1908 Pattern Cavalry Troopers Sword, regulation blade by Wilkinson with assorted military stamps including issue date (19)11, regulation iron guard with unit stamps 2 D (struck through), chequered composition grip, in its iron scabbard with twin suspension rings and multiple inspector’s stamps. Good condition.
British Victorian 1846 Pattern Naval Officer’s Sword by Batten & Adams, Devonport c.1850, signed regulation blade etched and polished with crowned Royal Arms, and fouled anchor amidst scrolling foliage, regulation gilt brass with lion’s head pommel, crowned fouled anchor in guard and with sprung folding sideguard, wire bound sharkskin covered grip, in its leather scabbard with gilt mounts, locket with 2 hanging rings signed on the reverse, retaining its original bullion dress knot. Blade 74cms. Good condition, hilt and scabbard mounts retain virtually all original gilding.
French Model 1842 Bayonet, with brass handle, steel cross guard and muzzle ring. Housed in steel scabbard. Yataghan blade with deep fullers to both sides of the blade. Armourers markings to the spine of the blade. The blade measures 57 ½ cms, overall 71cms. Pitting to the scabbard and steel cross guard.
Late Victorian Cut Steel Hilt Dress Sword, slender triangular section blade 78.5cms etched with scrolling foliage, knuckle bow and guard applied with facetted studs fluted steel grip and urn-shaped pommel, in its scabbard with iron mounts. Good condition, hilt and scabbard age worn, scabbard now bound with tape.
WW2 German Kriegsmarine Officers Dress Dagger by F W Holler Solingen, white celluloid grip with wire binding, gilt metal eagle and swastika pommel top. Cross guard with anchor to central cartouche and spring fitting but button top now absent. Housed in the original scabbard with two hanging rings. Double edged blade with etched sailing ship decoration to both sides. Reverse of the blade with F W Holler, Solingen makers trademark. Some surface staining to the blade but otherwise generally good condition. The blade measures 24 ¾ cms, overall 41 ½ cms.
Very Unusual and Probably Composite Military Sword, comprising broad curved single edge troopers blade 89cms deeply stamped ENFIELD on back edge and with Enfield government inspector’s stamp, in its iron trooper’s scabbard stamped ENFIELD 1842 with crowned VR and Enfield inspector’s stamp, deeply engraved with rack number 38, fitted with a Continental officer’s brass 3 bar hilt retaining traces of gilding, deeply stamped GNOCLITEBZ (?) within curved reserve, wire bound leather covered grip. Good condition.
Sword Scabbard Recovered from Waterloo Battlefield, the ground dug, relic partial sword scabbard with two hanging rings still intact. These items were found around the Waterloo battlefield in the 1970’s when it was still legal to remove items from the battlefields. Items from the same collection were sold in our Antique Arms, Armour & Militaria auction on 17th November 2021 and 26th July 2022.
Early Socket Bayonet, with the mount stamped with issue markings. Triangular blade, no scabbard; Socket bayonet engraved ‘488 HAC’, blade and socket with pitting; Enfield triangular socket bayonet housed in leather and brass mounted scabbard. Remains of markings to the blade, not clear. (3 items)
British 1907 Bayonet, with two piece wooden grips, pommel stamped ‘WILTS. D 13’. Housed in P-17 bayonet scabbard with steel fittings and leather belt loop fitting. Polished standard blade with various issue stampings; P-13 bayonet with wooden grips, blade with Remington stamp, no scabbard; US 1917 bayonet by Remington with two piece wooden grips, no scabbard. Italian Model 1891 Mannlicher-Carcano Rifle Bayonet, good example with two piece wooden grips, steel pommel and cross guard with muzzle ring. Housed in its leather and brass mounted scabbard. Accompanied by an Italian Model 1870 Vetterli bayonet housed in the original leather and brass mounted scabbard. Both show some wear. (2 items)
WW1 1916 Dated Gurkha Kukri, fine example with wooden and steel mounted hilt, housed in brown leather covered wooden scabbard with brass lower chape. The reverse of the scabbard is stamped ‘C a 16’ and broad arrow with I and M either side. Good curved steel blade with Indian issue stampings and 1916 date. Some staining and wear to the blade but generally a good example of a WW1 Kukri.
EIIR 1821 Pattern Royal Artillery Officers Sword, fine regulation pattern example with grip retaining the original wire binding, swept hilt and chequered back strap. Housed in brown leather field scabbard with Sam Browne frog attachment. Polished blade remains in near mint condition with all the original polish present. Sword etched with HRH Queen Elizabeth II monogram and Royal Artillery field piece. Reverse of the blade etched with Royal Artillery and trophy. Blade 85 ½ cms, overall 109 ½ cms.
Good French Light Cavalry Troopers Sword, regulation blade 87.5cms, etched along back edge Mafture Imple du Klingenthal aout 1812, and with 3 factory stamps, regulation triple bar brass guard stamped VERSAIL(LES) with factory stamps, leather dress knot, in its heavy iron scabbard stamped 107. Good untouched condition.
Third Reich SA (Sturmabteilung) Dress Dagger by Ernst Pack & Sohn, with light brown handle with nickel silver eagle and enamel SA device. Lower mount with district stamp ‘Nm’. Housed in its original painted scabbard with single brown leather hanging strap attached. Double edged blade with motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ and reverse with makers trademark. The blade measures 22cms, overall 36 ½ cms.
Third Reich NSKK (Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps) Dress Dagger by SMF Solingen, fine example with cherry pattern wood grip, nickel silver eagle and enamel SA emblem. Plated mounts with the lower guard being stamped ‘Ns’. Housed in its blackened scabbard with single leather hanging strap. Near mint condition blade which retains much of the original cross graining. Standard motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ and makers trade mark to the reverse. Blade 22cms, overall 37cms. Some scratches to the scabbard but otherwise a superb example.

Blade 74cms. Good condition, blade with much original polish, gilding worn to scabbard mounts.
WW2 German Luftwaffe Officers Sword by Paul Weyersberg & Co Solingen, fine example of a nickel silver officers sword with large pommel with sun dial / mobile swastika to both sides, blue leather covered grip with wire binding and cross guard with mobile swastika to both sides. Blue leather covered scabbard with nickel silver mounts. Original blue leather hanger fitted to the scabbard. Good condition double edged blade with partial fuller. Blue leather washer to the base and makers trade mark with Luftwaffe acceptance stamp. Blade 76 ½ cms, overall 98 ½ cms. Housed in a brown cloth sword bag. Dark patina to the exterior fittings.
