David Gilkinson of the ship Hope from the Underwriters of the Brig Fame for his exertions in saving goods from the wreck of that vessel on 28 Feb 1805", wire bound ribbed ivory grip contained in its linear engraved copper mounted leather covered wooden scabbard. On the 27th February 1805 the Fame was driven ashore and wrecked in the Clyde. She was on a voyage from Greenock, Renfrewshire, to Trinidad. Ivory Declaration Submission Reference 9DNU1CDQ.
